001
Having built a model of the Whirlwind recently, because I like the 'look' and history of the airplane I disagree that is a good subject for a free plan. It needs a great deal of ballast in addition to the batteries in front of the balance point, which means mainly inside the nacelles, even if the tail is built lightly. There are also at least 5 other plans published for the Whirlwind at around 50 to 60" wingspan. (And a kit available at 54")
richard cohen
I do love my warbirds but when it comes to different you can't beat these... 1. Edgeley Optica ....if you don't know, try Google images, you'll see ! 2. DeHavilland Dragon / Rapide - prettiest aircraft ever - bar none ! 3.An autogyro - C30 or something similarly attractive you know it makes sense !! Tony Richardson
I have to go with the Westland Whirlwind again as it is a twin and one that is not modeled often, as I like unusual models here are my three picks. Westland Whirlwind. Gee Bee model A bi-plane ( the first aircraft the Granville brothers built ). The very odd looking Blohm and Voss reconnaissance plane.
