  2. Steve, What a way to end the year! Fingers crossed that things get better from here on in.... Best wishes with the guitar business and hope your health issues are short lived.... Happy New Year to you and your family....
  3. In electronics there's a technique called 'charlieplexing' where leds connected back to back can be lit alternately, as Shauni suggested earlier.....
  4. If you do apply, there is the option to apply retrospectively for the previous tax year, 2015-16. I did, and got £210 back......yippeeee...,,there is a free lunch after all ( or free model kit/ engine/lipo/radio kit or whatever)
  5. Given that the part number for the cub and the fun cub are the same, the Easy Star wings are different part numbers for the orig and mk2.... So anyone's guess really....Have you tried a Multiplex seller?
  6. I think, iirc, brc was born after the demise of 'electricplanes'..... Based over Cumbria way..... I do recall a chat with the staff at brc about this on my very first visit and found out about their connection with Robotbirds....with whom I've had great service also.... Agreed, another great loss....have to find somewhere else to spend my pension...
  7. Ok, I never had occasion to use their net service, but do recall that some of their net orders were fulfilled from the shop when I visited... Unless what I saw was something other than net orders? Edited By John Rudd on 05/10/2016 16:18:01

  9. BRC was based in Swalwell near Gateshead/Newcastle.....their stock being supplied by Robotbirds. Now the shop has closed, internet buying is redirected to Robotbirds and orders fulfilled that way. Its a shame the shop closed, was near to my daughter's so great for stocking up when up that way...
  10. Have a great time.... Sadly I'm not going there but flying to Australia for a few days.....oh, ok a month or so.....
  11.   SIG manufacturing and Great Planes both do superb kits for the builder, I think GP do or did artf.....   I have a half finished Patriot, started more than ten yrs ago, ( I'm a very sloooooow builder ) and an F4 Phantom still in its box...... Edited By John Rudd on 07/07/2016 16:05:13

  13. Original setup was a speed 600 motor and 8 cell nicad..... I know of folk flying them on an Axi 2820 motor giving vertical performance, mine still yet unflown, has an Axi 2814 in it.... You may need to add some ballast to make up for the nicad when using a lipo..... Edited By John Rudd on 04/07/2016 21:24:36
  14. I watched the opening scene with the head to head of the two supposed muscle cars....lasers on top, chasing one another, how juvenile.Very little thought and effort put into the show for me...lasted all of 7 minutes before turning it off...
  15. Posted by D. Woodward on 29/05/2016 17:54:39: Tis another bird added to my 'To See' bucket list, the other two are the P-51 XR 'Precious Metal' and the flying DH Mossie. I was at the air races at Reno in 2014, got close up n personal with Thom Richard owner pilot of PM, (as I'd flown one of the AT6's he has at Kissimmee),the plane was subsequently damaged by fire sometime after, but is undergoing a rebuild... Tis a sight to behold... If you get the chance to go to Reno its a great experience, was there the whole week....
  16. I have a nib SJ just crying for an electric setup...... Any suggestions as a starting point? I've already flown an ic version with an SC 53 up front so there's my starting point for performance.....
  17. Normal setup for no bt fone line is cable router with a wireless router plugged into one of the network ports to communicate wirelessly or cable router with wireless capability in which case you wont need any additional hardware.... 22. Try swapping throttle to ch3, Ailerons to ch1 and elevator to ch2..... With the battery disconnected and txransmitter off, connect speedo to receiver, turn on your transmitter with throttle stick at minimum, connect battery and wait for speedo to arm....should emit a number of beeps?
  23. If its a relatively modern motor then chances are its wound with enamelled copper with a coating of a polyesterimide or modified polyester base coat which is fairly inert to most chemicals....I've successfully used polyester resin before today to secure windings on rotos on generators that I have rewound...alternatively you could just use epoxy.... 24. I guess I stopped going to shows when the Elvington Air Spectacular ceased to be ...around 2000. Ive been to Rufforth twice I think since then and once to Wings n Wheels.... Travelling to the venues is always a nightmare for me, it's at least 40 miles before I reach any major motorway.....from where I live.. Nowadays, its easier to stock up via the internet, or by post...that said there's a certain model shop not too far from Gateshead that I've visited lately when staying at my daughters....
