  1. Nice to see Brian in the background smiling -------still missed
  2. http://www.bondaero.co.uk/MX2_61_/p1085152_15070642.aspx much cheaper and in stock ---- apologies for the blatant advert
  3. Can only speak for us, but sales are seasonal and the first three months of the year are often quiet. The value of the pound has made re stocking more expensive and potentially more risky as future sales could well be slower as price increases feed through. However a little easier for us as we are pretty specialist, so we have asked ourselves the question whether we are in business or not and made the decision to stock up. We now have good stocks already with more on the way. Regular customers have also been very happy to place deposits for larger orders which has been very much appreciated. The loss of the local model shop has been well discussed here but for the avoidance of doubt, it is not getting any easier and the decline will continue IMO.
  4. We will be there with a small stand having just finished the build of our first 2017 demo plane Edited By chris Bond - Bondaero on 01/03/2017 22:12:08
  5. The GBRCAA are very keen to attract new members in the Clubman class and so this year there is no requirement to have your B as you point out. All of the aerobatic competitions are open to spectators and that is a good place to start. Also this year there will be NPOD's New Pilots Open Days for helping with aerobatics. Additionally there will Clubman competitions in East Anglia this year. The Acrowot is a great aeroplane but if you choose a pure F3a aeroplane for your next purchase you will notice and benefit from the added purity. Please PM or contact us at www.bondaero if you have any f3a aerobatics questions or come and chat at the LMA Haydock show , It will be our first of the year.
  6. I have recently started using these -ok so far https://www.cleanshaven.co.uk/gillette-fusion-blades-alternative/
  7. My understanding is that subject to approval of the local Contest Director you will, in 2017 be able to compete in GBRCAA competitions without your BMFA B certificate so no excuses now. The GBRCAA are keen to support and help people fly the Clubman schedule at comps so hopefully some more NPODS to come also.
  8. Oh wow How many have we lost this year very sad
  9. Posted by Martyn K on 07/11/2016 12:03:04: I just love the SMAE stickers. We should all be using them - remind the BMFA of our engineering heritage me too
  10. A plane that handles the wind well is likely to have a symetrical wing section and a good amount of power. There is no benefit in adding weight if you have the right design so the theory hold and build light. However lots of strength in the landing gear is a good idea.

  12. Firstly I must declare in interest because this is my business but have a look at the sport and practice planes here **LINK** MX2 61" also worth a look
  13. Peter, Taurus runs an Emax 2820/07 850kv 3300mah 4s lipo and a zinger 11x7 prop The performance I would describe as elegant. Certainly well short of the performance of the modern ships or the average wot 4 but for me absolutely perfect. More power would spoil it . Duration well above 6 minutes
  14. indeed it is a Taurus on a 4s lipo and outrunner. You gents clearly know your stuff
  15. Sadly not mine but managed to get a twiddle on the sticks of this at the weekend.
  16. Just signing in gents not meaning to be anonymous Chris
  17. If you know what you are looking for the net can be great for finding demonstrator vehicles that seem to be sold on at 3 months old at good discounts from main dealers, and often have some good options fitted that you can get almost for free. We have just reserved a VW this way.
  18. Having spent many years in a day job I am now retired. Whatever the business is it cannot be clearer to me that customer service is paramount and that a business's most important customers are the ones it already has. That said I have always been content with the service I have received from model shops that I visited when on the road doing the day job. One often complaint was overhearing very poor advice given to beginners by shop staff. I also now avoid a still trading large model shop after witnessing an extreme example of this. So now I am now at the start of my fifth year in the model trade all be it in a very small part time on line only way and pretty specialist. In those four years I have begun to understand that many on line shops carry little stock and to my mind that is not a retail business. However it has been an eye opener and I have much more sympathy for shop owners now, and I do lament their passing. It will however continue as the expectation of the customer on price is driven by the international supplier -yes Hobbyking, the expectation on delivery time shortens -Amazon and average age of the modeler continues to increase, and the expectation that paypal costs nothing. (sorry my soapbox that one) So on line only I say , You would be surprised how may customers will travel quite some distance to have a look at a kit. I also believe that they get the best advice and end up the happiest of our customers, and not just because of the free cup of coffee.(do charge for Earl Grey though) So will I carry on ? Yes for now unless, someone here wants to take it on Will I branch out to supply general items -not a chance. So MattyB I very much agree with your last paragraph (sorry do not know how to reproduce a quote)

  20. Probably get a reprimand for advertising but last two on offer at the moment If you want to charge 4 lipos at once you can parallel charge and have more power available than the GT   **LINK**   Chris Edited By chris Bond - Bondaero on 05/04/2016 10:45:08
