  1. Hi Mark, It's not really a drawing, just a collection of sketches. I've saved a view of the major plan portion which fits A2 size paper. If I try and save this to PDF, it fits itself to one A4 sheet! (I'm not a turbocad expert) whereas I can print to 4 A4 sheets from Turbocad at full-size. Saving to .tcw, .dxf, .dwg formats it should be ok if you can use those. Nig
  2. Seeing these posts has reminded me to carry on and finish my Bambino. As I remember there were some slight anomalies with the plan vs the parts kit, I scanned the magazine plan and inserted it into Turbocad with the downloaded empennage page. It was then scaled to suit the formers that came with the kit. I was then able to draw up the undercarriage and dihedral template. I used this as my building plan for the wings, but I have yet to build the fuse.

    Taranis update

Many thanks Bob. I had it plugged into the S-bus instead of the S-port! Now all Ok although I had to re-bind the RX again. Nige

    Taranis update

Hello flight1 I had bought the X4R with the LBT upgrade to check out the Tx when I flashed the LBT firmware and all was well. I have been using the build151118 firmware unless something has gone wrong with the unzipping and copying to the SD Card. I noticed that both the X4R and X8/6R file sizes were both the same, 64K if I remember correctly.

    Taranis update

Hello All, Been using my Taranis plus (OpenTx 2.1.9) for several weeks on LBT upgrade with EU X4R RX, all OK. So, decided to flash my X8R RX with the LBT firmware but all I get is "Firmware update error" Any Ideas? Nige
  6. Hi Steve, there is a video on YouTube with one soaring along a dam wall. Do you know if that one is using elevator/ailerons? Nige
  7. Hi Andy, why are you not considering the 'enhanced anti-interference capability' firmware update. Is there very little point in doing it? Nige
  8. Hi Steve, Did you try flying the glider before doing any mods? I am waiting for the wind to die down a bit before trying it here to see how it flies as I notice that there appears to be quite a large wing incidence. Nige
  9. Hi Phil, thanks for picking this up. It has a 860mm wingspan with tapered polyhedral wing with enough depth to fit a 6gm servo even in the tapered section although that's putting a lot of mass outboard. Any additional wing spars would also have to be 'cranked' at the outer dihedrals.
  10. I got mine on Sunday - made a special visit to Lidl! Waiting for the wind to drop a bit so I can maiden it. Still wondering what to control with R/C, R/E perhaps as the wing doesn't seem that strong. If Phil Cooke is familiar with the model perhaps he has some ideas .............. Nige
  11. Who cares? I have a slide rule, log tables but best of all my HP scientific RPN calculator. I find it so natural to use and fast without even having to use its programming capabilities.
  12. I have a similar one Fats, great for loading flight batteries underneath the nose where most seem to be placed as the model can be safely placed on its back and you can keep clear of the prop.
  13. Thanks for the tips Brian, I've not actually saved anything to the Tx yet - coming from a humble DX4e, the Taranis is a powerful beast and I'm still feeling my way. I was planning to follow the procedure you've outlined so all should be OK. I was planning to rough out new models so to speak in OpenTx, cut and paste to the existing downloaded Tx model file, finalise on the Tx (if I have the skills!) and re-read back to OpenTx to Archive. I have added spreadsheets to the various file storage locations on the PC to keep track of firmware downloads, new model creation and edits.
  14. OK, thanks again, not got that far yet. Still working up a reliable process for myself. Just checked and the 'Patch calibration setting from profile' is greyed out for some reason
  15. Is there any chance of over writing this data when writing firmware to tx as I have a model in companion which has the default calibration data in the general settings file.
  16. Thanks Andy48. Another question, at the bottom of the Setup tab in the model General Settings there are two fields, one to retrieve calib. etc. and one to store these settings in selected profile. Does this calibration data come from the SD Card download?
  17. Getting back to OpenTx, I have been experimenting with the program to gain familiarity with it and I have the following question. I have set up the channel sequence TERA in the TX profile in OpenTx which seems to propagate through to the General Settings in the model editing screens. On the TX I had previously set up a couple of models in the AETR channel sequence which I have downloaded to my PC. The question is, can I copy across another model to the SD card with a different channel sequence? i.e can several models with difference channel sequences co-exist on the same TX?
  18. Updated Firmware is now available for X4R/SB and Beta for X8R/X6R on FrSky website.
  19. Will be looking at the LBT software next - it's in FIRMWARES ready to go but first I need to check all is looking good with the existing Rx before flashing the Tx section and then recheck with a new LBT Rx.
  20. Chris, I have no problem with using the bootloader now since I upgraded from 2.0.9.2 which did not have all the flashing options in the Tx. As I said it was section 4 on page 9 that appeared to be sending me down a false trail.
  21. However, on page 9 it reads, '4. Connect the transmitter to the computer with the transmitter switched off.' This is what has been confusing me as it goes on to say that using this method, the bootloader is automatically updated. As I couldn't get this to work, I used what you describe on pages 10 and 11 and, as you say its really easy.
  22. Yes, I was wondering if I had to use it with the Tx turned off. Looks like I do to access models & settings with it off.
  23. OK Chris. Have now got Taranis TX firmware and bootloader up to 2.1.9 but still cannot talk to Tx when not in bootloader mode. Is it as Painless360 said, the Zadig driver has to be used? Trebor also said he had to use it on his setup.
