  2. Yes I would give it a go! I think it was The Gadget Show did a challenge between 2 presenters, 1 used a sim to train at home, then they went up in the full size, but unfortunately I don't remember anything else about it. Edited By Glenn Stratton on 08/02/2014 08:41:25
  3. RJ2, yellow spheres are oxygen bottles according to the builder. My 1st kit was brought by my dad while he was stationed in Gibraltar while serving in the RAF, we were billeted in the army quarters and I was ill in bed and he brought me the Airfix model of HMS Cossack. That was only 1 of a handful of plastic boats I built, the rest of my collection was mainly planes, built a few of the military vehicles and the Lunar landing module! I remember coveting the Airfix Boeing Superfortress in the modelshop window in Gibraltar, and I never have built it! Diehard Airfix fan, never built models from Frog or Revell .
  4. What length is your blade, perma-grit do a 6" pinned tile saw(I think), not sure if that would be adaptable! Have seen 6"/150mm TCT tile blades with fixing holes. Would be a good type of blade to have for a scroll machine!  Edited By Glenn Stratton on 06/02/2014 08:34:07
  5. Ah, something did lodge in the lil grey cells then!
  6. Hii Nigel, someone else asked this question latter part of last year I believe, sorry can't remember where exactly they were directed, but it may have been SMC and a handicraft/sewing site. Try the search box, you may be able to find the thread.
  7. Bernie, My Hobby Store has a Wifurskin on their Xlist plan range, number RC914 for £17.50.
  8. I'm watching & enjoying your post also Jeff, so please keep on blogging away! Looking forward to seeing the finished model.
  9. Many thanks for the helpful replies Rich & Ian, I don't have a mic so good to know keyboard seems favoured, probably look for a headset at a later date. Edited By Glenn Stratton on 17/01/2014 13:25:03
  10. Hi Ian, sessions have been a bit quiet. I got myself the sim for Christmas, still playing with settings & getting used to it! Looking forward to joining in shortly! I do have a question, do the players communicate with each other during a session, if so how, via mic or keyboard?
  11. I can see it! Very nice piece of work. Thank you David for reposting it.
  12. Not visible on my tablet either. Just a grey patch, hope it's not a bad omen weather wise!
  13. That would make a great photo, you flying in the full size and piloting your model along side!
  14. Hi Ton & Con, interesting gyro, another one to research! Will be following your progress and wish you success.
  15. I would have thought that there would be a way of cleaning up the sanding block, and that someone on this forum will be forthcoming with a solution! Good luck with the cleanup!
  16. If anyone that has the luxury/facilities/space etc, and is interested in building a field bench, I'v just been looking at some old mags and in the Feb 03 issue there is an article by Joe Di Prima describing & design of Charlie Meyer's "Ultimate field safety accessory", with a materials list!
  17. Unique 1/2 scale topic, look forward to watching your progress Ian, I might have missed it, but out of curiosity what are you going to power Bertie with? Edited By Glenn Stratton on 02/01/2014 22:59:27
  18. I have wondered for awhile how long it would before we see a petrol Laser!
  19. I sent Laser a complimentary email about their new website and got a reply from them, I have gone back to them asking if they could add an historic data/help page for the old tickers to the new site, lets see if the plea has any effect!
  20. From what I've read the 155 is a development of the 150, and is an engine to suit a variety of styles of model using 16-18" size props thanks to the wide torque band. Not being able to access historic data is a drawback, hopefully an oversight, and an email would be fruitful and maybe if they get enough requests then maybe they will restore it!
  21. Laser have revamped their website, great job! And I see they have added a new engine to the range, a 155 size.
  22. Hi Marc, yes it was, I did take a chance as I had not seen a demo of any sim. I've tried flying off water with a float plane, Tigermoth at Hurn Airport and a Wot4 & Cub from a grass strip. I want to try other rc disciplines and as there is an active Phoenix group on here I'm hoping if I encounter a problem then help isn't too far away!
  23. Well done. Great photos, model sure does looks good in the air, awaiting the video in anticipation!
