I will post it here. I have scratch build an own design autogyro with a lot of trial and error. It flew but it had zero passive stability on it's roll axis. Still was a lot of fun though. Easily 15 years ago. Looking forward to building a tried and tested design. Could you please point me in the direction of the pre made rotor head? I think I have been on that website, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I just managed to lay my hands on a used issue of the 2014 RCME Autumn Special. I have other projects going on right now but I will build an Atom Special someday.

I use the same function to raise both ailerons as a landing aid on a glider. I can only get it to work with a switch, but I would want to use my throttle... I can't seem to get it to work like that, any suggestions?

I know I'm reviving an old thread here, but these Supra Fly's are terrific! The only plans I can find are the very big one, and the Supra Fly 20 by OK Model, both are on Outerzone. I'd prefer the 45 size model, does anybody have measurements (wingspan) on the 45? It might be doable to sufficiently scale up the 20 size to 45. Thx!

I use Magix Movie Studio, no subscription, I paid a one time fee of about €60,-. Easy to master program and works like a charm. I didn't find a suitable free program without a catch. No Full HD exporting, a big watermark and so on. I am very happy with it.

Removing old covering.
High_Start replied to Doug Moss's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
If it is not Oracover, it likely that the old glue and colour will stay on the wood. I have used duct tape with good results. It takes forever though... -
Well, I never thought that would never happen !

Seems that my tape on the battery hatch is less overcautious than I thought... 🙂 -
I use this stuff for the 2 meter class gliders. It is worth it's weight in gold. 15m of this and add 100m of 0,7mm nylon and you are all set. I have a spare set laying around for years now, the first set is still in good shape. https://zeller-modellbau.com/zubehoer/zubehoer-res-modelle/hochstartschlauch-silikon-8-mm-o-15-m-gelb-seta-modelltechnik/

First electric glider suggestion
High_Start replied to Robert Alexander 1's topic in Flat Field Gliding
+1 for the Multiplex foamies. I truly love wooden gliders, but the Easy Gliders is my only foam one. I use it with a separate Tx to get people into glider towing. It flies so well and is well thought out. Like other said before, stay away from the cheap knock offs. -
Difficult transition from stick to switch

This is very helpful. The mind doesn't know if you are doing it in the mind or for real. I use this as well. -
Difficult transition from stick to switch
High_Start replied to Steve Colman's topic in Flat Field Gliding
What helps me is that if the throttle is on a switch for a particular model, it is the same red kill switch I use for all powered models. So in my mind it is linked to power on or off anyway. After reading some of the comments I will change it to a different switch for redundancy. Good suggestions here, great forum this is. -
Yeah stretching in the air works quite well with enough wind. High Starting is how I started this hobby and it is still one of my favorite things to do. I love my modern RES glider.

However, nothing beats sending a glider up the high start, the chute drifting down is a bonus.

It is an old school glider, doesn't like too much wind, but thermals very well. I have since put an electric motor in the nose, I know, heretic at work, and I can easily get 1 hour flights on a 3S2200 in dead air. Very relaxing bird, and Pilot still is a great brand. I have a Lavender I am planning on building this year.

I build a Höllein AndREaS RES glider, and although it weighs only half of my Sig Riser, it copes better with wind because of the more modern aerofoil. I'd look for a slighly heavier RES kit.
