  2. I have signed up. Do I need a code for joining this league?

  4. Manston in Kent. Location not great but sure camping could be arranged. Recently bought bu consortium to use as cargo airport
  5. Looked to me like the Irish player 2az going down. He certainly 2asnt upright when hit. In fact off he had been it would have been no where near his chin. Card yes yellow for mitigation for me. But heyhi I'm only watching the same game as the tmo

    Servo Choice

I have a compact fuselage (wizard) and looking to see if smaller servos can be used. I was wondering if a smaller than standard servo would suffice for the i.c. throttle. Anyone have any advice ?
  7. Flying any model plane, regardless of type or size, requires any number of physical and mental abilities in order to do so safely. A standard test of flying and understanding of the rules is in the main the requirement of any test. Achieved only with practise and in most cases tution. It is fair to say that overtime our mental and physical abilities deteriate, or become lost to accident or illness. The A certificate is a recognition of one's competency. The B certificate is a recognition of more honed ability. All the achievements under the scheme are voluntary, however it is a standard which has been judged and certainly for the A at least displays that an element of safety has been passed onto the practitioner. Many clubs have no requirement for model pilots to fly having passed the A. Fine but their ability must surely be seen by someone, after all no one wants to share airspace with an 8ndividual whose competency is questionable. So in those clubs who decides? A time limited option may seem fine but finding examiners, never mind 8nstructors is in my experience difficult at club level. Our current system may not be perfect but is certainly several steps in the right direction. All of us will question our abilities as time or injury dictate and hopefully our lack of same will be evident to us, but may need, diplomatically, pointing out. If the above seems out of kilter with the views on here so be it. I have an A only and enjoy my flying and hope to add to my ability to fly manoeuvres of varying sorts. Whether or not I take the B is my decision. Knowing I am considered safe and competent to a National standard is the main thing.
  8. Instructors are worth their weight in gold. Whilst I have an A cert and "stood with novice flyers" I feel I need more experience of my own flying before teaching. It is my intention to improve myself with a view to tutor the novice.
  9. I hate the binbag moment. Though the pre event feelings are worse!. Like most, I am sure, we all wish it hadn't happened and I too put it down to something I did wrong. That said they can be entertaing seconds and provided no one is hurt can be laugh at load moments. That said it costs less to see a comedian!!
  10. I think its a matter of testing YOURSELF i struggle to do decent rolls but i will practise till they look right. Thats the satisfication. A B certificate means my practise has shown my learning has been rewarded. Probably means nothing toanyone else other than competence. Still a good feeling.

    Galaxy Wizard

Anyone have plans for the above or at least the dimensions, i.e. fuse length, wingspan.
  13. There is a YouTube video showing the designer using twin edf's on one 9f his. I don't know what size I suspect 50mm.
  14. I have a Brother printing machine for which you can buy assorted tapes and also ink colours. It's very good. 8n addition I understand that this year OP Numbers will be yours for the duration. Why they couldn't have used BMFA membership numbers I don't know.
  15. How do you get the fuel in them.....
  16. I was told recently by a land agent who deals with planning and change of use etc that one of things that has to be taken into consideration now are outdoor activities. This plays into the 'well being and mental health' fad currently all the rage. My mental health if fine if you don't believe ask my nurse.
  17. I have a Tucano with inverted engine below fuel tank. Real pain so you are quite correct Jon. Also you have stated the reasons and repeated them. I would just let others do their own thing and continue with what you do best.
  18. Don's audition for the masked singer!
  19. Your right momentum isn't but lift certainly is.
  20. There was a YouTube channel, Expiremental Airlines or similar which showed a number of useful tips and plans for foamboard. The Hobbycraft stuff certainly has the paper attached well. Makerboard is good and vector board comes in varying thickness and as such readily bendable making it ideal for oval and circular styling. I have even used it to skin a delta wing over foam board matrix.
  21. Purchased a Replikit "Kyten" some time ago. Delta wing. It can apparently use an edf or pusher. Anyone have any knowledge? I have a 50mm edf which may fit.
  22. Surely this is challengeable Where is the evidence to support the decision. This is were surely we can mount a challenge
  23. The uno wot, wot 4, arsing star and boomerang are all excellent flyers. But as previously mentioned find a club suitable for you. Good luck.
