  1. It's not a total waste of time, it is useful for detecting faults and telling you if you have not put a full pack in your pre-takeoff checks. As @Chris Walbysays, mAh used is better for telling you when to land. PS I did have a mAh sensor in my Mytho S (the model that the data that I posted above is from), but I took it out because my flight time was always the same so a timer on the transmitter was as good.
  2. 3.7V is too high. The would expect the voltage under load to drop lower than this. Try 3.5 or 3.4V. Telemetry data from one of my models.
  3. From Spektrum's AR410ChangeLog.txt It is good practice to register the newer Spektrum receivers. I heard about the problem on RCG. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=46430305&postcount=902
  4. That was the first Spektrum telemetry receivers. Took them a year to issue revised firmware. There was also a problem more recently with the small ones with the internal antenna. They sometimes had problems with older transmitters.
  5. I would happily recommend the DPS750TB1 if you can find one. A bit for effort to convert than some others, but it is quiet. There is a reference topic on RGC on converting server PSUs. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?1005309-A-simple-high-quality-12Volt-100Amp-Power-Supply-Part1
  6. Search for Blenderm on here (and other forums).
  7. It might be a bit fragile for use as a basic trainer, but a camera less ZOHD Drift should come in below 250g with or without a flight controller.
  8. Tell me that you don't understand open book tests without telling me that you don't understand open book tests.
  9. I read it when it came out. The question is "would it happen under the current regulatory regime?". If the answer is no (and I am pretty sure that it is), then you are not making an argument against the current rules.
  10. The 4th July 2019 incident?. If so, before the current system came into force. Lots of lessons learnt from it.
  11. You don't need a cheat sheet. You have the drone code open in one tab and the test in another.
  12. 236k operators. That is c. £2.5M in fees. The CAA's total income is c. £180M. Our fees pay for a few quangocrats and some computer systems, but that is about it.
  13. The CAA have just removed an exemption that they never should have granted. There is no way that an old A or B means that somebody understands the current regulations.
  14. An HGV test would take more than 15 minutes while I have a cup of coffee on a non-flying day. The BMFA made something simple complicated. They should not have got involved with competency.
