Covering undercambered wings. Dennis Bryant SE5a.
Albert Ace replied to Albert Ace's topic in Scale Matters
Sorry, that's Undercambered wings. -
Before I start this next build, how can I cover the Scale section undercambered wings. ? I'm a fan of food and nylon; not I was going to try Diacov heat attached covering for this one. But, unsure of the wings ?? All help appreciated. Albert

Bought a couple of rolls for the next model. Never used this before. There didn't appear to be a backing film on this. Looked on their website, no info on how to use it at all. Temperature of iron or any thing. Not used film much before. Any help please ? F Albert

LMA Cosford in 2024 ??
Albert Ace replied to Albert Ace's topic in Shows, Club Events and Competitions
You know my happiest time at shows.??.1970/80s Sandown and Plumpton with good old Dave Bishop....... -
I take it that as the LMA are advertising Sleap for next July, Cosford is a no go again ??. Anybody know why ?? Loved Gosford weekend........ Albert

Thanks Kevin, I don't know how it flew (deceased club mate). Maybe a 64mm can would be enough. Never flown edf before.

That's much like I did on mine. 1/16th ply rad shutters over litho plate front. I cut holes under the shutters to aid cooling. Albert

If I was told; 'you have one more build left before the grim deal's it would be the Flair SE5a. My own ( number two ) is still flying. . I have one kit left.

Thanks Simon. I was thinking of 6mm Depron replacing 3/32 inch ribs. 62 inch scale twin. Fully sheeted wing. ??
-
Guys Not into foam for building. Still balsa/ply. But can see the cost advantage of say, using foam for ribs. Anybody else done/doing this. And what type of foam would work best. Regards Albert

Anywhere I can get a plan for an electric version. ? Albert

Anyone built one of the above ?. It's meant for two i.c. two strokes. Plan/Pack available from Sarik. I'm going to electrify it. ?? Or ?? Albert

Chaps As above. But never built one, and its going to be Glow powered. Choice of OS 70 surpass, (fitting in looks difficult) or OS 56 alpha, again four stroke, but easier to fit (i think) I know they need a forge in the nose to get the balance right, so maybe the 70 but ?? Thoughts, suggestions, all help appreciated. Albert

Gary, thanks. I have the exact same charger which came with my old FF9, about twenty years ago. The radio came with Nicads, will this charger be OK for Nimhs.??. Albert, the paranoid, Ace

People will think I'm paranoid: I wouldn't be but everyone keeps picking on me...... NIMH CHARGERS. Overlander RC6 VSR. Tried fast charging 6 volt 2500 nimh. My checker was showing red light, so 're charge. Plugged in, charging at .5 mah as per. After 25 minutes, RC6 says full.....No way jose. False peak. Cannot changer setting from default in delta peak setting on RC6. This week nimhs and charging have done my head in. It seems everybody else can do it.... See, paranoid....... Going back to my standard Futaba 300 mah wall charger..... Albert

Right, cycled three times. It comes up at 1880 on average. Is that okay for a 2000 Minh ?? Albert -

Got another query. Left a model in storage, must be 6 or 7 months. Got it down to check it over and it's been left on, or accidentally switched on putting it away Almost new eneloop, 4 cell 2000 nimh. Should be alright to charge up ?? Albert
