flytilbroke
One of the higher risk actions that is a cause of a lot of grief in Canada and Alaska. A nice set of photo's of it happening.
John Privett
I've just posted in another thread (the digger hitting the bridge) that I thought I'd seen a video of that (the digger) incident. Well, on this one, I've certainly seen a video of a similar incident - though not this exact one. It ended up in just the same way though. Must happen a fair bit then. Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Yeah, nothing special about that, I'm afraid. You can see landings like that down at our strip any weekend BEB

Barry W
The accident to the De Haviland Single Otter DH3 took place in May 2010 at Biscarrosse in south west France. Every two years there is a large sea plane fly in at Biscarrosse which has a large lake. The lake was used before and just after the 2nd World War as a sea plane base by Air France. Lattecoer (sp) had a factory by the lake where he built the large sea planes . Here is a link to a report of the accident and a few more photos. The report is in French but the photos may be of interest. Biscarrosse also has a sea plane museum which is worth a visit if you are down that way. Ross Clarkson
Posted by James40 on 15/02/2011 20:18:34: Either this is one of the most incredibly buoyant aircraft ever built or he's managed to put it on a sand bank ? I think that's just camera trickery James, the video later on seems to show it wasn't a sandbank. Bet he was gutted.
