Paul Williams
I work for the highways agency and today I was asked to remove a vehicle from the M56. The owner had no recovery and was trying to make the next exit to prevent the removal bill. She could not understand why I was shocked at her antics. Here is a picture of her front nearside tyre. Codename-John
oh my days, surely its gonna cost more for a new wheel and to repair the damage to the hub and bits of hot metal flying off it, than to get towed to a tyre place
John Privett
Good grief! Was it a steel wheel, or an alloy? Or was it a bit difficult to tell?!
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
"Mechanical sympathy" wouldn't seem to be her long suit then? What does she think we put tyres on cars for? BEB
001
I have seen a VW Polo that was driven round the M25, the rear wheel had disintegrated and come off, the rear brake drum had a big flat on it and the fuel tank was scraping on the ground and about to wear through just before it was stopped by the Police. Paul Williams
I know a lot of GMP this was at Junction 12 about 19 miles out towards chester. It must be something about Volvo's Here is one trying out the 4x4 capablities When I got the call to this one the radio operator called it in as Debris on M53. Sense of humour or what. Alan Cantwell
looks like a plane broken up, what exactly are we looking at? and how did the volvo get there? i am guessing a scrap waggon is turned over, and the bin bit is on the left
Paul Williams
10 out of 10 mate. Scrap wagon overturmed and the volvo driver could'ent stop in time. Nearest thing to a cross over I've seen. It ended up on the central barrier.
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I drive the M53 everyday - both directions. I shall watch out with greater care in future in case I met any of your "friends" Paul BEB
Paul Williams
Thats interesting where do you fly? I used to patrol the M58 and used up many of my lunch breaks at Skem flying club. I have since transfered and miss the banter is there a club in that area?
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I live in Hoylake Paul. So right at the Wirral end of the M53. There are 3 clubs in the Wirral area, but a bit far west for you I would guess? BEB
