Ian Jones
Tried putting in about 20% expo on elevator & 10% on ailerons Tony? I'm not a big user of expo but a little now and then is sometimes needed I find. In the conditions I just had setup I didn't use any expo but I did have to heave in a load of down trim to fly power off.

I think we can claim to have made some progress too. Details to follow.
Mr.B.
Ian, I had just logged in when I had to dash off to shout at my children last night. Looking forward to details of your 'wing set up
Ian Jones
Okay this is the setup I used last night and it shares some features with Dave's setup: Electric Flying Wing - variations from default setup for combat slope: Weight .79Lbs Frontal CofG .2 ft Airfoil (Aerofoil in English) Root NACA64A208 Airfoil (Aerofoil in English) Tip NACA64A208 Stabiliser Airfoil (Tailplane Aerofoil in English) Flat Fin (Vertical stabilizer or vertical stabiliser outside the UK ) Airfoil Flat Lift Tuning 115% Flown with the motor off, of course . If you want to practice offline then you will need to setup the Flying Site, here's what we used: Countryside Hill Wind speed 3.5 mph Wind Gust 3.5mph Wind Heading 80 degrees Wind heading Gusts 80 degrees Randomness 0 Randomness Gusts 10% Gust Frequency 10% Turbulence 10% Thermal strength 100% Thermal Duration 100% Mr. B. Thanks for your brief visit, better luck with the children next time .

RichFR
Excellent can we set a session tomorrow night? Do you just create a session and away you go?
Dave Bran
Posted by Richard Barwick on 07/03/2013 22:00:33: Excellent can we set a session tomorrow night? Do you just create a session and away you go? Multiplayer, Go Online, Sign in, Create Session, then complete details. If you do not set a password anyone can join (up to the limit set). If you do not specify a model type any can be used. Obviously others need to know what the password is, and generically in the past the session used was "RCME" and the password "forum". Thanks for your brief visit, better luck with the children next time . Ian, thanks for that effort, but I'm a little puzzled by the site figures quoted, particularly a windspeed of only 3.5 mph and a gust speed of only 3.5mph. In the real world you would not be combat soaring a chevron wing in 3.5, nor in the absolute max of 7, and from my experience (I was a Beta tester for v2) the Sim is not that far off reality. Are you using these figures ON TOP OF the field weather? Countryside Hill and its default field weather is wind from 270. Look at Views, Displays, Wind Compass and also Views, Displays, Sky Orientation. To use "Use My Weather" it is more usual to turn the "Use Field Weather" off.
