Ian Jones Posted January 21, 2012 Share Posted January 21, 2012 A pretty determined attack and a cracking video, thanks Seamus. Looked like a forced landing to me. Many crows will mob or attack perceived predators that get too close to nests or roosting sites. In the UK the most common event is to see them mobbing buzzards which usually take little notice. For anyone that's interested our carrion crow in the UK (all black and often mistaken for raven) is a race of another crow of the same species - the hooded crow - and that is what the bird is in the video. The bird although a crow does not look quite like any "Hoody" I have seen, and in the Highlands the "Hoody" is the most commonly seen type. The video was discussed at length some time ago over on another forum and I believe Israel was identified as the location.
