GrahamC
Yes, I've had it too... I thought he probably was, and when I replied and said 'cash on collection/handover' he wrote back and asked for my bank details... so almost certainlly a scammer. Pete B
Google the email address, Nigel - chances are it will come up in a scam forum somewhere. Seems to be similar in style to so many previous scammers. Pete
NigelH
I did and there is no match for it. However, there does appear to be a typo in it - an extra 'n' IIRC.

John Privett
Classic scam I'm afraid... The wording varies a little (but not much) and they always refer to "the item" rather than being more specific. There may be other ways it operates, but (apparently!) if you agree, their "agent" will turn up to collect "the item" and pay you with a bank draft/counter cheque or similar. It's to a higher value than the cost of "the item" so you pay them the difference and they take "the item". Some time later the draft bounces and you've lost "the item" and some cash. Paul Marsh
I also got this. Was automatically placed in the "Junk" on my email.
David Ashby - Moderator
Scammers seem to be a part of everyday life these days, anyway, I'll be adding a few lines on the ad' completion page so as to warn folks.
buster prop
Yes, I got it too. I advertised an engine on here some time ago and got an email the other day exactly the same as the one in the OP except that it was from someone called 'jonnathan'. I was a bit suspicious of the payment methods he suggested, no way would I give out my bank a/c details. Anyway, thanks for the warning the email has now been deleted. NigelH
It's the same guy. As I mentioned above, there was an apparent typo in his name and it was the extra 'n' that I was referring to.
Martin McIntosh
Beware of `Jason Joshua`, too keen to part with his money but only wanted name and address details so that he could send a cheque since he `had no cash`. Told him Paypal only as stated in ad.
