Engine for A Flair Cub

Flair Products suggest a wide range of engine options for their Cub ie

15 to 40 2 stroke for Sports Flying

25 to 40 4 stroke for Sports Flying

25 to 35 2 stroke for Training

I have an SC 30fs looking for a good home. Would it be man enough to get such a large model ( 72" wing span ) in the air with a bit to spare?

cub + otri.jpgI've had two, both flown by an Enya 40 two-stroke, pictures above and below. This size engine suits it very well and beginners should be able to manage it even with a 40, because after all you have a throttle and so can regulate the thrust. A club colleague had one powered by an OS 52 four-stroke which suited it very well.

Hi Dai,

I maidened mine last weekend, I have an OS25LA installed and it did struggle to get aloft due to the wet conditions and relatively small wheels, but once in the air it was OK but not much in reserve power wise hope this helps.
