Dai Fledermaus
Flair Products suggest a wide range of engine options for their Cub ie 15 to 40 2 stroke for Sports Flying 25 to 40 4 stroke for Sports Flying 25 to 35 2 stroke for Training I have an SC 30fs looking for a good home. Would it be man enough to get such a large model ( 72" wing span ) in the air with a bit to spare?

Dai Fledermaus
Posted by Percy Verance on 09/01/2015 14:30:23: I've certainly never seen one with a .15 two stroke. In fact I think a .15 two stroke might struggle to pull one along the ground. My thoughts exactly P.V. David Davis
I've had two, both flown by an Enya 40 two-stroke, pictures above and below. This size engine suits it very well and beginners should be able to manage it even with a 40, because after all you have a throttle and so can regulate the thrust. A club colleague had one powered by an OS 52 four-stroke which suited it very well. Edited By David Davis on 09/01/2015 14:58:
Robert Parker
Hi Dai, I maidened mine last weekend, I have an OS25LA installed and it did struggle to get aloft due to the wet conditions and relatively small wheels, but once in the air it was OK but not much in reserve power wise hope this helps. Here she is as per box lid Regards Robert Edited By Robert Parker on 09/01/2015 16:35:
Alan Gorham_
Mine has an OS40 Surpass and to me it's ideal. not overpowered, but not underpowered either. I had to fit my Rx battery under the engine to get the CG correct. May need lead with a .30FS....

Glenn Stratton
Saito 40S, well suited and generally flies on about 3/4 throttle.
Stevo
30FS..? No Chance. 48FS upwards for any authority!
Gary Manuel
I learnt to fly with a Flair Cub with an OS 46 LA engine. Plenty of power to get you out of trouble and capable of some reasonable airobatics. Thoroughly recommended.
