MattyB
We tried no brome, but had little success - stainless steel fishing leader proved much better.
TheFlyingCrust
Try dismantling one of those old rod-type electric heaters if you can find one, the type that had a reflector. The windings on the ceramic is NiCr. Ian
michael quinn 1
Hi duohhhh ... using a different fle bay search ... as suggested ... works. Cheers Mike
michael quinn 1
Lol ... next thread will be ... where do you get veneer these days ... its 15yrs since I cut a wing and all the local model shops have gone. Used to get it at one or two of them quite easily. I'll check flea bay but just wondering if there is a known 'go to' source for modellers. Peter Christy
I never bothered with veneer - I just used balsa! 1/16" worked a treat for most models, though perhaps 3/32" for something a bit more highly stressed. Remember to reduce the size of your templates to accommodate the thickness of the balsa..... -- Pete
SDF
I've bought it from here in the past.
Shaunie
I used .8mm stainless steel mig welding wire very successfully. Just find a decent welding shop and beg some off their reel. Don't let them eject it out of the gun though as the drive rollers mark the wire. I also used to skin with balsa. Shaunie.
