john stones 1 - Moderator
Started thinking about my servos, 2 in wings and rear mounted in the fuzz is way I fancy mine, I will be using minis in mine so I best get them ordered, here's sort of thing I'm looking at. Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Are you thinking of just the elevator servo in the tail John - or both elevator and rudder? Putting servos in the tail may help the electric powered variants a little to get the battery a bit further forward. BEB
john stones 1 - Moderator
Yes BEB, both elevator and rudder, there's enough width/depth if you stagger them, I have used these minis in some lively models with big control surfaces (mini Jazz, HK Slick) so I'm confident with them. AVC
Hi John, yours was electric, isn't it?I'm still considering your suggestion to place servos in the tail if I make the build up fuse.I've been working un the wing, I'll put some pics tonight. john stones 1 - Moderator
Little more waffle about my fuzz, then ill get back to my wing, servos at back so alter formers for the leads, couple of stiffeners then cut middle out. john stones 1 - Moderator
On to other w/panel, pin l/e in place, then use 3 ribs to line it all up, then get gluing. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Leave it to dry now, then I can web and sheet it, I like building wings John
Chris Barlow
Very therapeutic! I wouldn't say I like building wings but I don't dislike the task either! I do like lifting a completed wing off the board and seeing the built up profile though!
AVC
Good progress Jonh, your wing is almost finished.

AVC
Hi John Will you use one or two servos for ailerons? I think you already said somewhere but I can't remember / find it out...
john stones 1 - Moderator
Mini in each panel AVC. John
Craig Thomas
Looking forward to seeing how you fit them John. I'm going for a servo in each wing. Looking for inspiration. 😋😋
john stones 1 - Moderator
1/16 ply tray, glue on some hardwood for screws, mount servo on it's side, horn go's through slot, gives a straight run to aileron horn fix some hardwood to ribs to mount plate to, easy on this one coz of flat underside. Craig Thomas
That looks fairly straight forward. I guess the same principle can be usedone with the servo stood up straight instead of on its side. Think that's the route I'll take unless I find an even simpler we. Did look at those servo trays from slec. But then thought against it.
john stones 1 - Moderator
Yes Craig, on side or upright whichever you prefer. prefer ply myself, costs nowt and do with scrap of film, so they don't stand out. John

john stones 1 - Moderator
Dropped a clanger putting that strip inboard over rear spar, easy fix though John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Hard points for aileron horn done, 1/8 ply inside the sheeting, then 1/16 ply to bring flush underneath. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Extra balsa 1/4 square added for hinge points, bay 2+4, and shaped the lower l/e ready for the sheet. John
