Shaunie
A friend of mine bought a used Laser from a model shop recently. Perhaps you could identify it for him Jon? It's fitted with a 14x7 at the moment. Shaunie.
Gary Manuel
Not sure whether you've realised Shaunie, but the scratched mark is a UK Post Code in Bexhill-on-Sea.
Peter Miller
The letters n the lugs should be the original buyers initials

Denis Watkins
I did own a 61 like that but sold years ago to a guy that pushed me to sell.
Shaunie
Yes, I'm aware that's a postcode. I believe he bought it from SMC, so that would make sense. I was aware about the initials but didn't know about the he production year stamp though. Shaunie.

Scott Edwards 2
I think the 'year stamp' varied a bit, sometimes the actual year, and sometimes the car registration letter or number. That engine has 12 cooling fins, so my guess is a Laser 100 made in 2001 ?
Bob Cotsford
I'm sure Jon will be along to confirm, I believe from the mid-90s-ish there was a single number indicating the year - 7, 8, 9. From 2000 or 2001 it became two numbers signifying the year - 01, 02 etc up to 16, so the photo shows a 2001 unit. For sizing you could compare yours with the photos Gordon Whitehead compiled. I've just been through this checking a '3 year old' 100 engine that turns out to be 7 years old!

Shaunie
Thank you all for your advice, I will pass the info on. As I do not yet own a Laser, I made several attempts over the evening (it was club night) to steal it but he was watching it like a hawk 😎 Shaunie
