Simon B
I don't post too often, but often read the forum. Having spent a fair amount of time on Facebook groups and other forums I'm definitely now a cheerleader for the more civilised tone on here. That's all I really wanted to say. Nice one mods! Erfolg
Cor blimey, I almost chocked! As one threatened with being banned for using a word that is used both in the Harry Potter books and in the film, I cannot believe it. The very same week, the same word was on the front page of the Telegraph. That is without considering the many other historical uses of the word to identify historic figures. II felt so strongly about both the issue I seriously considered just going to the US forum. Now Simon, is that what you wanted?
Simon B
I agree that their illiberal approach to language can be a bit OTT (I've been ticked off for using a word that's mentioned in law books) but the flipside is Facebook groups, where any idiot can post whatever they like...Edited By Simon B on 15/08/2017 20:06:
cymaz
I was slapped down for posting a video of the Archbishop of Canterbury! Still, no hard feelings. It's a model forum after all not a political megaphone....."Justin Welby for President!!!"
Don Fry
Yes Erf, but the Telegraph is not renouned for much, except for checking the date. And Mr Potter reckons he can get powered flight out of a yard brush. Or even a Ford 105 E. Standards are higher here.

Tony j
Hi All I too find this an excellent forum, long may it continue. Regards Tony
The Wright Stuff
Erf, I just re-read my entire Harry Potter collection, and I can't find any reference to Traplet anywhere!!! Joking aside, yes, totally agreed. That this forum is far more civilised and readable than many other forums is largely down to the diligence of the mods. It really shows up when trying to follow threads, when looking at topics that have already been discussed, perhaps several years ago.
