Ace
A few years ago but still . Before landing the pilot found that its front wheel got stuck and didn't come down while landing. So when he informed the control tower who planned to keep a truck in the place of front wheel, but the problem is while the front portion of plane falls on the truck it should not shake, and the other important point is that the speed of the plane and the speed of the truck must be same, otherwise the plane could slip down and cause an accident But one driver came forward to do this and he did accurately and saved all the passengers in the plane. Now you can enjoy the video. **LINK** Ok I believe it was a publicity stunt but done very well Edited By Ace on 24/01/2018 08:10:
John Muir
It's an old advert for the Nissan Frontier. All done with CGI. Even the plane has been altered so it's 'not quite' a Boeing 727 so nobody gets sued. Quite a lot about it on the internet.
Tim Cheal
Do you remember the Thunderbirds episode, very similar!!
Chris Walby
Well at least the Thunderbirds team did not use CGI, although they did need to pull a few "strings"
Martin Harris - Moderator
I found the acting in Thunderbirds a bit wooden.
Peter Miller
One of the finest pieces of flying that I ever saw was on a similar theme at St Mawgan We had a Shackleton MR 3 which had it's nose wheel come down at 90 degrees to the direction of travel. Trying to land like that would have collapsed the nose leg at least. We all came out and watched. The pilot made about five landings, each time he just brushed the front tyres on the ground and eventually worked the nose wheels straight and made a normal landing
J D 8
No way the truck could match the airliner's landing speed. Edited By J D 8 on 24/01/2018 11:36:

J D 8
Is that so they can put the fire out before the plane stops?
