Phil Cooke
Whilst we await the delivery of our plans and parts, I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread specifically for Hurricane colourschemes, photos and videos of the full size and details of stuff we may wish to employ on our models like cockpits, weapons, etc... Feel free to drop any relevant stuff in here!
Phil Cooke
Photo credit John Dibbs - shows the cockpit console of one of the BBMFs Hurricanes (note its fitted with modern radio and sat nav equipment to ease the burden of travel between all those UK summer fete flypasts!) Andy Blackburn
...and that's what comes of not paying attention to which window the text is going, first thing in the morning. Harry Twist
Thanks for the Hurricane details above. To feed in to this thread - thought I might add this link- its a guide to all surviving examples of Hurricanes in the UK whether - flying / museum / gate guardians etc. The site gives lots of examples / locations for anyone wanting to see a Hurricane up close! **LINK** Not sure how often the details are updated but its a starting point. Toshiro Saruwatari
My short kit is on its way. While I wait for it to arrive, I bought a copy of Hurricane book available here. By coincidence, it came out only a few weeks ago. Lots of informative info and photos. Made a good and interesting reading. Was a bit of a surprise to learn that Hawker Hurricane was the only figher which fought throughout WWI from 1939 to August 1945I, in active service. dirk tinck
At some point the Russians planned to put Russian engines in there hurricane's because of the poor stream of replacement engines and parts from the UK due to the German sub's attacking ships. It never came that far. Guess they had octane booster ?
