Dave Cooper 3
Under "My Friends" on the Forum home page it tells me to 'set a status'... How does one actually do this ? I can't find any relevant help anywhere on the forum or am I becoming myopic ? Dave
Dave Cooper 3
Just found the blank "Edit" box....but, really, none the wiser ! Allowable settings ??? Dave

Dave Cooper 3
Ron - such as what exactly ? Do I just make something up, or, are there 'standard' status's (stati ?). Where else does it appear on the forum once set ? Confused of Wiltshire...!
Dave Cooper 3
If there's a Moderator around, the posts are now repeating whilst the 'post counter' does not seem to be incrementing Even more confused of Wiltshire.....(sorry to be a pain everyone !) Pete B
Never had occasion to set a status, TBH, but I've just tried it out and I'm now shown as 'Chilled'. Having said that, as far as I am aware, only I can see that - unless anyone can tell me otherwise! Pete

I don't see anyone's status - do I need to set one myself in order to see other peoples status? Dick
ken anderson.
hello dickw,i think how it works is on your hompage for the forum you can send a friend a request and if they accept it you will have their name in your friends box.when you log on to the forum, you'll see the grey button to the left of their name lit up green if they are logged in to the site also....try it,send me a friend request i'll accept it and when i'm on the forum, you'll see my green light-lit up...as for your staus box below your name, just put anything in it,i don't think its of any importance etc.... ken anderson......ne...1...green light dept. Edited By ken anderson. on 27/11/2018 10:13:02 Thanks for that Ken, now I know why I don't see "status" - I don't have any friends . Nothing personal against the members of this forum - it's just that I try not to get involved with that sort of "social media process" if I can avoid it. Thanks again for the info. Pete B
Thanks ED, I'd tried that with a couple of posters and neither had a public profile, so no show! It works for you, I see!.... Pete
Dave Cooper 3
All very mysterious....status, profiles, public, friends, clicking etc etc. Tutorial anyone ? (I'm not volunteering by the way !). Thanks to all the contributors so far... Dave (for testing purposes 'status' = "Improver Mark 1" sadly, no 'friends' as yet)
Pete B
Have a browse along the maroon top row of the page, Dave. Under Settings you can add a bit about yourself in 'My Profile'. The 'Friends' button will give you a chance to send a request to anyone you know on the forum - it will just show them in a panel on your page and you can see if they're online and gives you a shortcut to messaging them. The hi-tech here knows no bounds...... Pete
Stearman65
I was curious about set your status when I joined. But like anything that gives us a constant reminder that it's there (like tooth ache) I decided to copy & paste my Youtube channel URL in there, however, you can't hot link it only copy & paste to get to my channel.
