Wilco Wingco
Just received a new exhaust total cost inc postage from Japan. £20.36. + VAT £4.12 + post office handling charge £8,00 ????? Not sure why the Post Office should get the £8.00 as it only cost £6.50 postage from Japan Air Mail
Martin Harris - Moderator
The smart answer is because they can...but I think you're lucky the handling charge was only £8 as I've heard of much higher handling charges. The justification is that they have to manually remove the package from the largely automated system for Customs and Revenue to do any necessary checks and administer the duty payments on their behalf but it does add a lot, especially where the value is relatively low. jrman
I think the threshold for the application of VAT and their "handling fee" is £15 including postage.

Jon H
I have the same trouble here with customers returning engines for service. We have to get them marked up as 'faulty item retured to OEM for repair' and this gets them through.
Wilco Wingco
Sure are fly-navy. Great service and prices even from the other side of the world. One thought though. Why are used Enya 4c engine so expensive?. I got a real steal judging by the current prices on E-Bay. I know they are asking prices but they are way out there. Denis Watkins
Probably 3 times now, where it says Buy it now £x00, Or Best Offer Have just offered £50 and got the motor. My theory is you just keep offering on these listings and you will win one of two
