Andy Stephenson
Any chance the admins could fix the problem that continues to rotate photos by 90° as the posters themselves can't seem to sort it. Andy.
Denis Watkins
Different makes orientate different ways Andy, but I had most luck with the phone by Taking pics, Landscape with the camera button on the right
Graham Davies 3
I thought it was just me! If I open the image for editing, rotate it by a full 360 degrees and then save it, when I upload it to my album on this site, it is fine. If I don't it comes out 90 degrees rotated! I can find no difference in images on my pc that are at 0 or 360 degrees (my maths teacher swore they were the same; I can finally prove him wrong!)... Most odd, but that's my workaround Graham
Ron Gray
Similar to GrahamD but I just open the photos on the PC (Mac in my case) then auto adjust then save. When uploaded that are in the correct orientation. Pain in the butt but that’s what you have to do with this antiquated web software. Andy Stephenson
Don't get me wrong, I have no trouble posting my own pictures it's just really awkward following a whole thread where the photos are on their side. Andy.
Phil Green
Its not the forum software at fault, the problem occurs widely elsewhere, for example Whatsapp have an ongoing saga with rotated photos. We have it with PHPBB3. It seems to be caused by certain phones assigning incorrect orientation to their EXIF information. Anything that strips or re-writes EXIF (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro etc) will correct it but it is a royal pain for those who administer a forum. So dont blame RCM&E, its not their fault ! Graham Davies 3
I think of it in terms of the famous five: "Just run over there and pull that lowest branch three times"! It's an initiation rite, something to do with Masons... Of course, Phil's technical explanation could be right...
fly boy3
I use another non modelling forum. This problem is the same on this non modelling forum. I always use an iPad to take and upload pictures. As mentioned above,by using iPad in landscape mode with button on rhs the orientation is correct always. brokenenglish
I think the problem is simply telephones. I use a camera for photography and a PC for the Web and, of course, I never have the slightest problem.
Simon Chaddock
Same for me. I use an old Kodak Easyshare M320 camera, then edit if required and resize all my pictures to 750 x 563 px (an old habit from when space was limited and up load speeds were slow). Whatever way round I edit them then that's the way they appear on this site and have done so for over 10 years.
