Photo rotation problem persists

I thought it was just me!

If I open the image for editing, rotate it by a full 360 degrees and then save it, when I upload it to my album on this site, it is fine. If I don't it comes out 90 degrees rotated! I can find no difference in images on my pc that are at 0 or 360 degrees (my maths teacher swore they were the same; I can finally prove him wrong!)...

Most odd, but that's my workaround

Its not the forum software at fault, the problem occurs widely elsewhere, for example Whatsapp have an ongoing saga with rotated photos. We have it with PHPBB3. It seems to be caused by certain phones assigning incorrect orientation to their EXIF information. Anything that strips or re-writes EXIF (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro etc) will correct it but it is a royal pain for those who administer a forum.
So dont blame RCM&E, its not their fault ! wink

Cheers
Phil
