Cuban8
Well, it was 55 years ago................. Suppose I should put flying a control liner on the bucket list - trouble is I know I'd fall over, even looking at a stationary merry-go-round makes me queasy. PatMc
Last time I flew C/L I did fall over but managed to keep the model flying by looping & bunting in one sector whilst I managed to get back on my feet again. Having got back up I promptly crashed the model. It's still flyable but has been resting in the loft most of this century. An AM35 or PAW Eiflander Special occupied the empty nose space when it was active.
John Lee
The Tri-ang Fledgling appears to be a rebranded Cox Shinn 2150 which in turn was a scale(ish!) model of the full size training aircraft.
Nick Cripps
That looks a nice Mini Slow, Pat. I've built a few of those over the years and still have one somewhere with a symmetrical wing a la Peacemaker and an Oliver Tiger up front. Must have another go at control-line sometime... Trevor Crook
I thought Steve did OK with a subject he is not familiar with. Love seeing him working on the clocks with the little lathe.
Paul De Tourtoulon
My first 'properly powered plane was a Control line Skyraider, I think it was a Wenmac, I never got it to do more than a lap and a half before breaking it, as for the engine, cox's from .020 to 1.5cc I have had most of them and still a few in the garage, they really start easily and run well ( for me ) and a couple of years ago I build this with a PAW 1.5cc, video on youboob and now hanging in the garage.
