Mr Ficky
Can any of you Super Cub Flyers / Builders tell me if you have experienced wing tip stall at slow speed? As the Cub is a parallel chord wing, I'm assuming that it doesn't need any wash out; but I've read that the cub is prone to tip stall. What's your experience? Frank Skilbeck
Flown quite a few different size RC Cubs 1/6th to 1/4 scale, and have never ever managed to get a tip stall out of one. They usually all fly very nice, benefit from rudder in the turns and the most difficult part of the flight is take off as over zealous use of the rudder can cause a ground loop. J D 8
If a Cub is tip stalling likely a wing warp. However if an aircraft is in a turn at slow speed even a cub can tip stall. 1
Martin Harris - Moderator
Full size Cubs have 2 1/2 degrees of washout [and a little dihedral] if it's any guide. I rigged my 1/4 scale J3 to the scale settings and it behaves very well even at fairly high wing loadings.

Martin Harris - Moderator
Sorry chaps - my fault. I tried to do some housekeeping from my mobile phone and it went slightly wrong!
