Most of us make do with a single cylinder 4 stroke. Not the same as the sound of a Merlin though is it? Too right Peter. The noise just gives me goose bumps every time. Mind you that .61 geared engine makes quite a satisfying 'whine' when passing. Makes the guys at the club smile anyway.

john stones 1 - Moderator
Stay with the 2 blader and replace with an APC, will fly the model better and sound nicer.

Thanks Simon but sticking with the 2 blades. Will defo purchase APC style though if/when my unforgiving club tarmac runway disagrees with a dodgy landing. ☺️

Paul De Tourtoulon
Did someone suggest an electric motor ?, 😨, stick with an Apc 2 bladed prop for performance, or a smaller Master air screw if you like the scream of the prop going subsonic ,,
Engine Doctor
Two blade for flying 3 and 4 blade props for static display. A geared 61 ! I havent seen one of those gor years now. Does the prop run clockwise or does engine run clockwise ?

Ah that tends to limit you on props anyway as not many left handed props to choose from these days. Stick with two blade and as suggested and try different makes if you want to increase thrust . Thrust and noise vary considerably with dfferent makes. Ps nice looking model and whinning gearbox must sound great ! Simon Chaddock
It is perhaps worth remembering that to achieve the same thrust with a scale multiblade prop will require quite a bit less RPM but a lot more torque. This may make ground handling whole orders more difficult unless you can devise a contra rotating setup. Scale props and electric but CL not RC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLEY1_IgWh8 It did fly.
