I know, just not the same but then again, even radial engines don't sound like full size and as for V12 noise, forget it.  Most of us make do with a single cylinder 4 stroke.  Not the same as the sound of a Merlin though is it?

Too right Peter. The noise just gives me goose bumps every time. Mind you that .61 geared engine makes quite a satisfying 'whine' when passing. Makes the guys at the club smile anyway.

Thanks for the 2 blade reassurance. Clockwise when looking at model from front.

Ah that tends to limit you on props anyway as not many left handed props to choose from these days. Stick with two blade and as suggested and try different makes  if you want to increase thrust . Thrust and noise vary considerably with dfferent makes.

Ps nice looking model and whinning gearbox must sound great !

Thanks for that. It does sound good. If you've ever heard the sound of a Tie Fighter flying past in Star Wars...that's the sound ! 😁👍

It is perhaps worth remembering that to achieve the same thrust with a scale multiblade prop will require quite a bit less RPM but a lot more torque. This may make ground handling whole orders more difficult unless you can devise a contra rotating setup.

Scale props and electric but CL not RC.

It did fly.
