Futura57 Posted April 11 Share Posted April 11 I just acquired a Moki 135 powered 72-inch span biplane, 60-inches long. The wings look to be foam veneered and the fuselage sides appear to be lite ply. Tail feathers are pretty solid too. The whole thing feels very robust. I would like to get a cowling, otherwise I will have to fabricate one myself. Anyway, can you identify the model for me? Puffin (the cat) isn't talking to me since his full body shave. Google is yielding very little: A RCM&E review in 1988 (allegedly), but no details or images. Plus a 2012 topic on this forum with photobucket images which are no longer available. So I can't verify if it is or not. If it is then it really is an obscure old design with little prospect of getting a new cowling. Anyone any thoughts? It could be the same as my newly acquired biplane which, incidentally, I purchased from a BMFA ad just a couple of days ago, but now deleted. I have a faint memory they used to make a smaller version too 60" ish but could be wrong, they used to have a display slot at Much Marcle and fly a pair of the larger ones with smoke, very impressive flat spins on full throttle, hardly lost any height, they weren't around for many years though I'm sure. Lindsay Todd Posted April 13 Share Posted April 13 Yes there was a smaller version as I had one, I think around 52 or 54 inch span, i had an Enya 46 4stroke in it and painted up in the colour scheme of Kermit Weeks 'Weeks Solution' (see pic of full size) flew very well and a friend at our club had the bigger 72 inch version with i think a ST2000 in it, again flew very well.
