Zorba
Good day, Does anyone know of a UK shop which may still have these modules for sale? I want it to convert my 9ZHP. I’ve scoured the internet and eBay as well but no luck. Thanks.
James Green2
I have seen some of the plug in ones that go in the back online. this is what I have in the back of my 9ZAP WC2. I don't think there is any room in the case for the DIY module. Edited June 30, 2024 by James Green2
Phil Green
Yes a DFT would plug straight in, if you can find one!

I’d be surprised, if they do as they haven’t been made f for many years and aren’t legal to sell any more… since the Etsi EU changes of some years back. John Wagg
The DHT module was replaced with the XHT module to conform to EU rules..:- https://www.frsky-rc.com/product/xht/ Can't find any of these either except maybe Banggood or Aliexpress. Both units look to have been dropped. There are other manufacturers of TX hacks but I have no info' on them. I understand there is an option to take the innards out of an XJT unit to make it into an XHT module. :- https://forum.alofthobbies.com/index.php?threads/converting-a-xjt-into-an-xht-for-vintage-radios.454/
Zorba
Hello everyone, Thank you to all. A forum member has contacted me and I’ve found both modules I’m looking for. Regards, Jack
wuftymerguftyguff
Where did you get the DIY modules in the end? I have a Futaba 6XSuper I want to convert to 2.4 GHz Or is there another way for now? ta Jeff Edited June 16 by wuftymerguftyguff
Wookman
Lemon rx might be the way to go.

Its obsolete by 15 years and much has improved since then 🙂 Despite what the label says, its not DSSS, it uses a CC2500 which is a hopper and is incapable of DSSS - same chip as Frsky which evolved from Corona. Of the two receiver aerials, one is fake and does nothing - added for 'aesthetic reasons' according to Corona tech Billy Chou. The most popular conversion module now is the Lemon, which is bang up to date and for which there is a wide range of receivers including stabilized if thats your bag 😉 Cheers Phil . Phil Green
Also, (forgot to add this but its vital) the PPM input of the Corona RF module is completely unprotected and will eventually blow if fed with battery-level PPM. The processor does have clamping diodes to the 3.3v and ground rails but IIRC these are rated at only a couple of milliamps or so. Its a long time ago but we got around it by using a Schottky diode in series with the PPM lead, banded end to the encoder, such that logic low from the encoder pulled the Corona PPM low, but a logic 1 from the encoder allowed the Corona pull-up resistor to provide the 3.3v 'high'. This problem was carried through into the Frsky V8 which was actually sent out by Frsky with a Schottky diode in the PPM lead. This was all well documented at the time but has been buried under 15 years of other posts 🙂 More 'current' modules such as Frsky DHT, XHT, Lemon etc have PPM protection built-in so levels aren't a problem. . Presumably, this problem is only with the V8 hack module and not the V8 "JR" plug in module?
