Martin Harris - Moderator Posted November 11 Share Posted November 11 Safest to remove the backplate before the top end although ensure both valves are closed to take the load off the cams. That way, unlike in the picture, where I assume the followers have been pushed up for clarity, the cam followers will positively retain the cams.
