Hi all

IV had a Kyosho Hyperfly RC helicopter for years for the people who don't know it was made in the 80s without a rear rotor instead it as a frisbee, look it up.

Anyway iv always been afraid to fly it because of the power that comes off the blades I fear will decapitated me lol 🤣

What should I do keep letting sit on top of my wardrobe for me to dust it every week or is there a museum for this sort of stuff iv never flown an RC helicopter I intended to but never did and if I try and fly it then I can say goodbye to 40 years and so of history and that would be ashame. She still works fantastic and still scares the pants off me every time I fire her up.

Any advice would be welcome

They fly like a trainer and great fun but don't try it in a small field for your first go.

I was surprised how easy it went away from a hand launch.

It was meant to get skyward not sit on a wardrobe. 😄😄

From what I remember of the Kyosho Hyperfly it is not actually a helicopter, more of a powered gyrocopter that can only be flown in forward motion just like any RC gyrocopter/plane. Can not take off vertically or hover or even land vertical like a gyrocopter can.

Has to be hand launched with some forward motion into wind, the tail has a fin [with pic of rotor on it] for direction stability. Hanging below the machine is the switch rod that allows the thing to power up when lowered. Landing is just like an aircraft, fly an approach reducing power until near the ground the arm swings up and cuts the power.

Helicopter flying skill not needed for this one.
