  1. Toto, I wouldn't use any glue if it has a screw. That's my prefered method on most models, it helps with storage at times & often a boon when any maintenance is required.
  2. I would expect them to be fixed in place by the ply tongue visable in th pic of the fin & rudder assembly plus a single screw .
  3. You mustn't have lived in UK in the 1980s then ?
  4. The roundels on the full size would have been bright as the aircraft would never have been more than a few months, or even weeks, old if used in active war service. It's only the photos of them that are aged.
  5. I've been building models since the early 1950's & can't remember ever gluing wing dowels in place but for a long time I've rarely build a model that doesn't have the wings glued or bolted in place or plugged onto metal or carbon dowels. The last time I built a model with banded on wings was a cut & try own design around 20 years ago. I modify any that are designed for wing bands to bolt on wings, even including vintage designs.
  6. Loose fit the wing holding dowels to the fuselage then before applying any epoxy fit the wings in position held there with a couple of bands. Check that the LE & TE line up accurately. If they do, join the wings with the epoxy & masking tape then fit them on the fus with the bands, check everything is lined up as it should be & leave for the epoxy to cure overnight.
  7. This design has been around for quite a number of years, the exra conduit is probably intended for a 35 MHz Rx aerial but redundant for 2.4GHz
  8. @Mike ChantlerDid you use a void filler as in my post dated 3 Aug 22 above ?
  9. Got my left eye done September then the right in December 2021. I was terrified before the first op. I couldn't imagine how I would not make some involuntary eye movement but in fact the whole thing went very smoothly. Due to Covid a special unit was set up in the grounds of a near redundant old hospital my son dropped me of at the car park about 10 mins before the appointment time. I had to enter the unit through the front entrance & was being operated on within 15 - 20 minutes. After the op when it was decided I had recovered OK a nurse rang my son then escorted me to a side exit where he took me back to his car. During the prep time the surgeon told me that it was the second most common medical operation worldwide. One of the things that struck me most in the period between the two ops was the difference in brightness and colour hues each eye perceived. A pair of trousers that looked charcoal grey to my right eye were now navy blue to my left eye. I'd thought some white doors in the kitchen & bathroom were overdue in need of repainting but now realised they were actually quite bright. Geoff, I was driving again within two weeks after each op.
  10. Erf, are there any instructions included with the ESC ? SMC site states that it has automatic cell count, which now very common, but if the user can also select the number of cells you may have accidently done this & selected more cells than your battery has. This would give the same result as LVC. BTW, SMC describe it as "unbranded" no mention of "Pro".
  11. I just give dabs of different colour paint to each servo male with matching colour to corresponding female.
  12. I think 2 football pitches (Premier league standard) comes to just over 3.5 acres.
  13. When I got my first 4 or 5 lipos I stored them in a redundant oblong Pyrex casserole dish. This was placed in centre of the concrete floor of the garage with a couple of plastic bags of sand covering it. Idea being that if there was a fire the heat would melt the plastic dumping the sand over the dish, hopefully containing any flames & heat - it was never tested in earnest.
  14. I think you'll find that K enya is in E Africa. 😉
  15. Brian, I wanted to buy my current PC from Currys about 3 or 4 years ago after some research & checking out a demo one in their N. Tyneside branch. Problem was they didn't have one in stock nor were there any stocked within reasonable distance for me to collect. I located one at their Hull branch & asked my local shop if they could have it transferred to their stock or have have Hull branch arrange delivery to my home address via an internet order. They flatly refused to do either. I never got a reason for the transfer refusal other than that it wasn't company policy. I later realised that they wouldn't deliver it via an internet order because it would make them liable to the conditions of the remote purchase legislation. As it happens one of my brothers lives near Hull & was planning on visiting us within a couple of weeks so he agreed to pick it up & bring it with him on his visit but he had to pay for it himself at the shop. (Must try to remember to reimburse him on day 😁) IMO, if you are able to make a direct purchase from Acer it might be a better option.
  16. The post that my comment quoted as reference, also the general discussion that prompted the quoted post.
  17. You're quoting my post out of context.
  18. Most people who hand launch for someone else run hard up to the point of launch then stop before chucking. 😉
  19. I would have thought that the difference in mass between an IC & EP prop acting at a far greater mean diameter would pretty much negate any difference in gyroscopic effect.
  20. For the same power, torque is greater aat lower rpm.
  21. There's IC, EP & BS. When folk who primarily fly IC give advice on EP they often include BS in large dollops. 😁
  22. Sorry Paul, I didn't make myself clear. I wasn't refering to any difference between EP & IC but, as Leccy has pointed out, to the misuse of the term "torque roll".
