  1. All the tools in the workshop would regularly go out for a drink on completion of a job. But never invited the anvil co he always got hammered... The Taxi hasnt arrived
  2. I have always been under the impression that aircraft prototypes are subject of rigorous examination not just of the plans but also construction etc. Know I appreciate that this was a model for concept for an ultimate manned vehicle. Where was the scrutiny by the CAA, why if the operator was using an illegal radio frequency and other attendant violations was no prosecution forthcoming. If the AAIB and CAA use this to add onerous regulation on our hobby then I think the hobby and its governing bodies should turn the fire on the clear failing of those organisations that allegedly promote safety. I am aware that much of the regulation came about as the result of monetising airspace for commercial use. It would be interesting to see what those bodies do/did to sanction those quads (drones) that will be making unmanned deliveries in this airspace. If they have done so and granted some kind of airworthy certificate then surely this should have been subject to the same scrutiny. If prosecutions are going to be made against individuals then at least we should have some confidence in their ability to undertake object investigation. If they cannot then they should be challenged and their shortcomings exposed and rectified. As for the Police I think they just left it with the AAIB. Pretty shabby all round I think
  3. Gents, thanks for the replies. I have the Cougar to hand and am putting a 36 ASP in it. I think the Wasp and Excellence are likely candidates. Im pretty sure I too the 20 out of a Magician which actually I never got to fly.
  4. I have an SC 20 any ideas what i can put it in. Thought Weston Cougar but recommendation for that is 25 +
  5. Not a boffin but consider this, film of paste on paper, blotting paper, film of paste on paper, blotting papers. i.e sandwich the components much like some batteries. Re hydrate the blotting papers and just replace paste sheets. Should I patent this or o to back of class ?
  6. I use a mobile clothes rack drilled some holes in the top rail and put dowels through cover with pipe insulation Beauty of this I came move them around the garage. Will send picture when I can get into garage !
  7. There a millions of cars in the country all registered I dont know of any that have more that 8 digits in their number. Just shows the paucity of the numpties at the CAA
  8. Not everyones cup of tea. Harry Chapin just sings great stories a proper minstrel. Without him, and John Denver, there would probably have beeb no Band Aid. Theres a 40 min video on youtube about his life good viewing. A tear dropper in Taxi and Taxi the Sequel. And if you want a good sing along feel good try All my Lifes Circle the live version from the Album Greatest Stories Live. Might have it played at my funeral !

I have used to make power pod for depron planes. Servo holders for.mini servos and some assorted objects for my grandchildren. If purchased solely to make a plane it would never have been bought. Re the walled comment as i said new to this but yes make the object then duplicate reduce size change to hole and fit into object. I appreciate some readers of this wont have a clue what i have said. But then i dont understand some of the stuff i read on here. Each of us have different interests skills and disciplines. But we all love the hobby. My original query was can you use a digital pen instead of a mouse. I get not everyones cup of tea and i am not the most proficent builder but if this helps then its worth it for me.
  10. You probably know these .flitetest jetworks. And look at expirimental airline videos. He no longer does them but they contain a wealth of info.

Haven't used the scribble option, i think it would be a little bit difficult with a mouse. I suppose I should have searched the net first, but i know that the intrepid users of this forum hold the answer to many things.
  12. I am using an Overlander RC D100 charger to measure the IR, however I am begining to think I shouldnt have bothered as all the lipos I have tested come out quite high i.e. 2s 20 22 and 3s 27 27 36. I am still using them and they seem ok, no puffing and no out of kilter voltage across the cells. Guess I will just keep waiting on performance degradation and monitor cell voltage. Thanks, as ever, to those of you who have replied. I am smiling under the mask.
  13. Why not have a go at a hovercraft. I have had a go with a scratch build foam board hovercraft. I am having trouble with it turning on its access suspect it may be a thrust angle issue as it spins to the right. The thrust is provided with an EDF mounted directly onto a servo!. as i say its a scratch build bit of fun. Might give you something to have ago at and test the brain cellls..
  14. Cos I is thick I need some help. I have been measuring the IR in all my lipos and am getting a tad concerned because it looks like they should all be retired. The pics are from a 3s 2250 35c lipo. Advice sought. .

  17. I have purchased built and flown the mini vector, and downloaded the Bloody Barron plans and have built two of those. They fly really well and are a great hoot.
  18. I like others, i am sure, keep mine in ammo boxes. I recall seeing a posting, not sure if it was on this site, that to prevent the box from exploding in the event of a fire to remove the rubber seal. This has a tendency to make it rattle. I have found that if you drill a couple of holes in the sides, one towards the front the other to the rear, then plug them using rubber grommets, you loose the rattle and also keep the box water and air tight.. In the event of anything untoward happening the grommets blow out releasing the expanding gas.

I am using Tinkercad, which is free! and Cura to produce the printing files. I am still getting my head around Tinker cad. I designed a canopy which I duly printed solid, then the penny dropped on how to hollow it, so just walled. Printing as we speak. I was wondering if there is a way of using a pen and tablet which I think may give better control. Anyone had success with that or is the mouse still best option ?
  20. Not a fan of registration but we have it. Simplest solution all round. Put the membership number as issued by the BMFA , LMA or what ever recognised organisation. Prefixed by organisations intiails. Does away with Government expenditure at a time we have incurred unecessary debt. The current fee is i understand just covering costs. However we know have it and with the current escalting debt mountain i suspect the treasury will be looking to pay it off. Expect significant rises in the coming years.
