Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Dave Goodenough's topic in Why Not Say Hello....
Welcome to the forum, Dave, a new face is always good enough to see. -
Will you take £20 for it ?.😂

Making vintage type wheels
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to GrahamWh's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
You can also use the reinforced rubber tubing as used on cars, my Stuka keeps loosing it's tyres ( Dia 80 ) it should have 100mm (4") maybe this week I will make a pair. -
When selecting active, you can choose which way you want to turn it on and off, or with a 3 way switch, off/on/off On/off/off etc.

No Issues "yet", I also ( sadly) use a few planes with big batteries, but some retracts are delivered with a timer that one day will activate the 'magic smoke', that will change your way of setting up electric retracts.

Page 83/84 a bit long-winded for me to reply, but similar to my FX-30 ( tg12) one of them cuts the engine, attention only a small amount you will have to fiddle with the servo end settings, the other one blocks the throttle only when you put the stick down, and it locks the throttle at the point that you have programmed the engine.

The French fire is a building next to houses in a small town where there 'was' 900 tons of batteries now all gone up in smoke, the French authorities say as they did for tchernobyl that there is no risk of pollution to the locals,,😡,

I have a couple of my planes wings and cockpits held on with magnets from old burnt out motors.

Any reason why you can't just run a bit of tape down the wing / fuselage gap, I used to do that on all my gliders, even my old 3.6m Multiplex DG- 600

Lol, try it,,, utter rubbish !.

I have flown 'real' helicopters, in normal flight it is quite simple but hovering is really difficult ( Bell 47G)

The tower pro voltage tester is well worth the couple of £, I have one in my more expensive models, when the radio is turned on, a quick bit of stick movements will tell you if your battery is on the way out, or if a servo is binding.

Mode 2, so where on earth did mode 1 come from ?, another thing if the Drone law lot get hold of this video maybe it's the next drone model plane law step, our models on a string tethered to the ground.😡

What sort of plane, size and servos, I still prefer Ni-hm on 5 cells = 6 volts.

Do you have to go with an OS ?. I have had plating issues with Magnum and Thunder tigre due to overheating on people who run them in on the bench, I have had both OS and Irvine chrome peeling problems, there are other older engines that have never ( my experience) had any of the above problems, HP, Webra, Enya, K&B, Supre Tiger, and lastly my favourite, Rossi.

How stupid can I be?
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Jim Hearnden 1's topic in All Things Model Flying
I never sold JR radios, but if my memory is correct everything I sold had the + in the centre like Futaba, it doesn't really matter if the owners actually read the instructions before turning heir radios on, it would avoid that Magic smoke moment. -
Winter is here....who's been flying?
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Chris Walby's topic in Flying Field Reports and Chat
A silly 20°c + today, I took my jumper off to fly my 2.08m with its Saito FG-30 Stuka, probably 9 months since its last flight. -

Can't you rewire the plug to give you the + in the middle ?. Like the time when I sold a Futaba battery to a customer who asked for a Futaba TX 9.6v pack, it blew his new Hitec Tx up 😨 -
Well done lads, brilliant flying.😇
