  1. As they only use half the fuel, or like me put some castor oil in the mix like I do to make up for it.🤩
  2. Yes, most 4 strokes and 2 strokes will drop a few RPM's, don't worry about it, throw it in the air where it belongs.
  3. I was helping one of our members looking to find his crashed plane over 500 metres away from the runway and was surprised to hear the prop noise of a small prop driven electric jet, whereas a bixler on FPV was flying around trying to find the lost plane was making little noise and could only be heard at less than 100 metres away.
  4. I don't know how what your needle valve looks like, but we used to put a bit of silicone fuel tubing on it as a sleeve, it stopped air leaks and unscrewing due to vibration.
  5. 6 years means nothing, How many hours of running ?.
  6. My saito's have been running for around 30 years, and only needing piston rings ( 3 x .45s and 1 x .45 std ) all run with at least 2% castor, I ran My Enya .90 and 120 on synthetic only fuel and they both needed replacement bearings in a very short time. Don't forget that I live in the south of France and fly mostly ever other day,,,
  7. Yes, but without it, I will be going back to change the bearings on my 4 strokes every 2 years. 😡
  8. Here we go again,,,😨 100 pages on fuel,,,,🤢 Most fuels are good, a good all around mix for ALL 4 strokes especially the older ones is 10% nitro and 15% oil including in that a bit of caster.
  9. The Dle 'canister" is worth a try on the Dle 20ra, it does quiet it down a bit and will give you a lot more power.
  10. The same thing happened to me, I sold a Citroën 1/10 scale car to the Citroën garage owner, his wife came back and forth as it wouldn't start, eventually he came to my shop, he put the glow starter on the plug and said there you are it won’t start, obviously he hadn't read the instructions and wondered what the bit of string on the rear of the engine was for.
  11. Yes, my FG-30 swings the same prop at the same speed as my Dle 20Ra.
  12. Norwegian Blues are still around, ask any MP fan.🤩
  13. I also have an HP .21vt, less power than a sewing machine, but cracking sound in the air and never stops, not like my *** Rcv, both gone, as ED said, Enya 4c are really good engines 'if' you can get one. Another 'tip' on 4 strokes is to leave the engine on its compression stroke, so that you don't end up with the valves sticking open.
  14. Use a good oily fuel mix, an OS 'F' plug go for peak rpm on the ground then back the needle off 1/4 of a turn and put it in the air, no hanky-panky fiddling around on the ground for 1/2 an hour as it will overheat. The best 4 strokes that I have ever had were the OS .48 Surpass, and the Saito .45 S. Don't even look at an RCV.😨
  15. Big money🤢 maybe a Saito or other 150 four stroke methanal if you have a noise problem, did someone suggest electric ?.😡😨🤢
  16. I would recommend a DLE 20RA, Dle are good engines, Ra is the rear exhaust so easy to hide it, the Rcgf engines are cheap, ( many are copy's of copys ) and that reflects in the way that they vibrate, twins are normally less powerful than singles.
  17. You can get Methanol over here for camping cars, it's used to create electric,,, and Castor oil is readily available, I use both in my motors.
  18. A great engine, mine is in a Se5a,,,
  19. They certainly sound like they are clockwork, loads of them at Montpellier as 'medical' taxi's, a perfect use for them. As for the subsidies for knocking down old petrol drilling islands, the government has pumped enough taxes from petrol sales, unlike electric for EV's taxation hasn't really started "yet", so subsidised by IC cars at the moment.
  20. OMG, here we go off the subject of IC MODEL engines,,,
  21. I met one of my 'younger' friends ( an old customer) that I gave an old biplane with a cox in it, he said that where he was flying there was an upsurge of small glows, so much so the main model fuel company in France ( Labema) had come out with a special fuel for them.
