Quote, but is it really worth all that effort to end up with a dog? Why not !, I finished improving both my £50 non-running .90 laser and 160€ Saito black night with its Ch-ignition petrol kit, also a non runner, our 15-month-old dog obeys us ( sort of 🤪), so if there is a Hurricane out there I will accept the donation, my VQ one is falling to bits.

Walbro zama petrol carburetters.
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Paul De Tourtoulon's topic in IC Engines
My Saito 150 petrol conversion is now running well with it's new carb, it took a bit of fiddling on the L and H screws as when throttled up it just cut out, it was much too lean, it needed an extra 1/2 a turn to the L which brought it to 1 turn from closed, and 3 1/8 turns on H, I have to throttle up slowly, or it cuts out. A Master airscrew 15 x 8 gives 8.200rpm, 400 up on the original carb, as for the bulb, I connected it to the tank, it's only an overflow when the carb is full, I didn't have to choke it, it started straight away, now all I need is a plane or flog it -
There is still the SG Spitfire, as we all know you can't have enough Spitfires.

Don't listen to them, here is one with a Saito FG-30, a 30cc petrol engine that won't get the skin off of a rice pudding, but watch the video,,, Ps, I have a Saito fg-30 so for once I know what I am talking about,,,

illegal; drone flight and non registration fines
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Gavin Mack's topic in All Things Model Flying
I just renewed my registration numbers on my planes on the French site, now you have to tick a box if you haven't got a transponder, then they ask you 3 other questions, ie; do you fly in a registered FFAM club,,, -
Soldering/binding piano wire.
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Basil's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
I made a decent field one from a Peugeot diesel heater plug, a copper rivet at the end and a bit of helicopter tail rotor tube as a Handel, so it will work on any 12v car battery, back when I did 1/10 scale electric cars for changing motors, less than 20 seconds to heat up. -

I couldn't find anything else with a 10mm aperture. -
Sorry Gary, but I have at least 4 planes with these, and they are really good, a couple modified to twist and turn, all on petrol planes.

Thanks, Brian, I found a French video explaining it, just putting tubes everywhere and pumping to see what is what, so I will have a go later on, first I have to finish my Laser .90 powered PC-9, only a couple of things left to do. -

Thanks, never too late to learn, -
I need some advice, I received another carburettor to replace the ch-system one that wasn't that successful on my Saito 150 petrol conversion that I got second hand as a non runner ( yes I can't help myself buying these lame ducks ) no choke, but I can always make one up, there is a bulb to pump the fuel up, so do I leave it as is and put a tube to the tank with a second clunk, or a tee on the inlet side and stick to one clunk, block it off with a rubber bung, the other solution is to take it off and blank the system with a metal plate like other carburettors what do you suggest ?. Thanks, Paul

No prices on the site,,,, Ask around the club, maybe someone has an old psu and has the patience to fiddle with one.

Making slots for control surface hinges in balsa
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Andy J's topic in All Things Model Flying
Maybe just a point like a centre punch to score the wood, and mark the other side for those who want to drill it out for a pen, pencil etc,,, -

When I worked on boats ( real ones ) we used to dissolve a boat anode in hydrochloric acid as a flux. -
Maybe the big ones that you put in your shoe, that makes you limp,,,,

None worked for me, so I went under the scalpel,,,

Rip, wot's wot, I lost my Mirage 2000 the same way 3 weeks ago, you can't seem to get the good quality Futaba switches any more just cheap rubbish. As for the Seagull Stuka, I am sure that your 180 would pull it around the sky nicely, here is one with a petrol 40, probably around the same power output of your Laser, I have the ESM one ( 2.05m ) that was probably put together by a plasterer but my not so powerful Saito FG-30 is more than enough.

If that's what they are hoping for it 😅 then I have just become a millionaire, send me their phone number quick,,, -
It's on this one, I have some number punches, should I donate them to Laser ?.😃

I have been fiddling with carbs on my Laser .90, any carb will work ( for me ) as long as it can be fitted to the pipe, or just make another pipe,,,

Seagull, and a Rcgf copy 20cc vibrating machine, that I re-balanced the crankshaft 'a bit',,,

Does that yellow machine do all the work to get the field looking like a golf course Ron?. -
Warbird Replicas Spitfire LF mk IXc
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Ady Hayward's topic in Warbird kits
I use them for many a model and different paints, it isn't easy to set it up, get the right mix and thickness of the paint, and when that's all done you need a steady hand to keep the right speed to keep the line even,,,not for the faint-hearted,,, -
Mode 1 and Mode 2 Incident Report.
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to David Davis 2's topic in Incident Reports
90+% of our club are M 2, I taught most of them 😇, I fly M 1 and M 2, I did have an awkward take off a few weeks ago M 2 rudder on the right stick, ailerons on the left one, all I can say is that it was exciting missing the fence down the runway.😅
