Aberdeen Tempest Squadron was out today.. Great flying and no breakages!! Photos courtesy of Derek Robertson.

Here's my Tempest F1 former repair which cracked and dropped the motor down after good landing (IMO). I think that the F1 former and its supporting structure should be made from 8mm ply including the supporting cheeks. I attempted to do this by adding 8mm ply/basswood at the weak locations.

I think he will get a FW190 too.

Yes this was his first built and he did brilliantly.. Well done David. I will ask him to write about his experience.

Dave maidened his Tempest today very successfully. It really flew well. Excuse the photo quality as our official photographer was off-duty on Sunday.

Another balmy day in Bonnie Aberdeenshire. Dave had his maiden flights successfully with his Tempest (own build from Richards kit) and Spitfire (Foamy). Here are some photos:

The aluminium spinner on my FW190 has been making a lot of noise even though I balanced it a couple of times. I have swapped the aluminium spinner with he black 3D printed one from Richard. It was better balanced and performed very well today.

An excellent day in Aberdeenshire with temperature at 17 degC and full sunshine and no wind. Surprisingly only 3 of us made it to the field and had a great day out. Here's todays flotilla.

Great weather in Aberdeenshire.. 15 deg but the wind picked up to 20mph.. Despite that I managed the maiden of my acquired 55" Cumbrian Fun Fighter Spitfire. Take off from the FW190's dolly: FW190 and Tempest had a flight each too. Despite a near perfect belly landing, the firewall of the tempest gave in (3rd time now) despite being glued well. Has anyone else experienced any firewall issues too?
