For clarity I was referring to the "Creality" provided firmware, not the Marlin FW Paul has linked too. I have tried other firmware, including Marlin and https://github.com/mriscoc, and for my basic needs the Creality firmware works fine.

As has been mentioned in previous posts, customer service. I too only buy from UK manufacturers or retailers because in the rare event of something going wrong I stand a better chance of getting the problem resolved without hassle. For me it’s about piece of mind when ordering, I’m happy to pay extra for that.

One of the clubs I'm a member of suffers from poor ground conditions during the winter making the strip out of use however it has a lot of long grass areas available and it's only a few minutes from my house. On scouring Outerzone I see during the 60's small IC "rough field" models seemed popular so following building a slope soaring wing from Hobbycraft foam board I thought I would try and create a small IC belly landing model from the same material utilising 3D printed parts. I've no experience with CAD so have been learning QCAD for the 2D foam board plans and FreeCAD for the 3D parts. I've an OS15 and 25 to use, I'm going to try the 15 first and design the firewall and mount in a way that if it's not got enough grunt for a hand launch I can reprint the mount and put the 25 on the front. The model will be made from a single sheet of A1 foam board, the 2D plans are as follows and the green outer line represents the sheet of foam board. A 3d printed firewall be glued into the front end, the extra hole on the left for the throttle pushrod. Onto this the engine mount will be attached, tilting the engine over at 45 degrees. I've printed a few iterations of both in PETG and have come up with printer and slicer settings which seem strong enough. I've tile printed the 2D cad file as a PDF and will use this to cut the foam parts and build the airframe, hope to get this done in the next few days and will post updates as I go along. As you can see I have minimal experience in this area and it might not be pretty, so please feel free to chip in.😁

Cheapest online price I can see for the Force 46 is £98, Model Shop Leeds have the OS46AX2 for £119.

18 months ago after purchasing a secondhand model off a club member that I ended up spending more time on the ground faffing around with I purchased a new Boomerang and OS46 engine. The engine setup as per the instructions has been very reliable, loads of power with unlimited vertical performance and starts first time every time. The Boomerang has been flown in all manner of conditions a lot of which kept others on the ground, it has taken me through my A cert, will be flown for my B, is easy to repair and is my go to model when the conditions are sketchy. Cons, it's a pig ugly model with a colour scheme put together by Stevie Wonder.

Depends on the foamboard, regarding West Foamboard from Hobbycraft I've tried and tried as @Ron Gray has suggested using an iron and removing the paper but not matter what I try I cannot get it cleanly off. I was in Hobbycraft a while back and they did have a foamboard which looked different, I found I could easily remove the paper from a corner but stupidly didn't buy any. What foamboard have you got and if you have success I'd be interested to know how you've done it. 👍

We’re talking about a 64GB card, via the Windows UI there’s a 32GB partition limit.
-
Any version of Windows will using the built in utility diskpart.

The silent board also known as the V4.2.7 board uses TMC2225 stepper motor drivers to reduce noise, it also supports both the CR Touch and BL Touch bed levelling sensors hence both drivers being available. The BL Touch driver won't work in your printer. I'd be trying one of the following 4 drivers depending on the version of Ender 3 you have available from here https://www.creality.com/products/cr-touch-auto-leveling-kit, on opening the downloaded zip file you'll see a 4.2.7 folder containing the firmware.
-
Which bed levelling sensor are you using?
-
After a pretty cool cartwheel and the wing bolts not letting go mine snapped the fuselage behind the wing, as good as new 😁

No need to have purchased another card, you can reformat the QUMOX as FAT32. FYI Ender printers will support cards of 64GB, but there is no point as the gcode files are tiny.
-
A good process to follow for calibrating your settings for LW PLA 👍https://colorfabb.com/how-to-print-with-lw-pla Re ABS you’ll need some extraction for the fumes. 👍
-
As above, are you sure the card is formatted to fat32? No knowledge of Qumox, I only use SanDisk and have never experienced an issue.

Fear, uncertainty and doubt

You said in your post "I don't have any choice in the matter", you do in that you can turn off iCloud sync and use other services to share photos on your Ipad.
-
On your iPhone or iPad Go to Settings, then tap your name. Tap iCloud Photos. Deselect “Sync this [Device]” to turn off iCloud Photos.
-
Is that the AFHSS protocol?

FYI https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394380316927 👍 Edited because I've just noticed it's located in China, thought it was the UK. 🙄

Pleased you've got it sorted, unfortunately your experience with the module confirms others experiences with Jumpers patchy build quality. While transitioning to FrSky I used an iRangeX IRX4 Plus multi module for DSMX which was rock solid and very well built, only available secondhand now I think.

CAA Call for Input: Review of UK UAS Regulations Aug 2023
PDB replied to MattyB's topic in All Things Model Flying
Living in a county with one of the lowest population densities in England and knowing (family member in the rural crime unit) how stretched Police resources are, policing this is impossible in my area. Liken it in my locality to wild camping, the law will be ignored. -
Could it be worth upgrading OpenTX to the latest version 2.3.15?
-
Worth flashing the firmware on the module?
-
As above set the external switch to zero enabling serial communication between the TX and module, some more detail at https://rotorev.com/content/JP4IN1Manual.pdf

Some slope soaring clubs have formal arrangements with the likes of National Trust, English Heritage, etc. so may well be able to register but in my locality slope soaring is done on an informal basis.
