Steve W-O
Local printers? Many are digital, but there must still be plenty using offset.
Danny Fenton
Hi Tim yes I scoured EBay last night as well, looks like the stuff is getting scarce Anybody know a friendly offset printer?
Ernie
Hi Guys, I get mine from a local art school, who are teaching traditional printing methods. The old ones have an image on them, which cleans off easily with the appropriate solvent They chuck em out ernie
Danny Fenton
If you can get some more Ernie I will gladly pay for your trouble. Cheers Danny
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Hi Tim, if I remember correctly you live sort of north midlands area? Well the UK's largest supplier of litho plate is Bridgenorth Aluminium in Shropshire. They probably wont supply in the quatities you want - but they may well let you have a rummage in the scrap bin for an off-cut? Worth a phone call. You'll find them here. Other than that its the local printers. I'm lucky in that we did a job recently in work evaluating laser cutting of litho plate - lots of post test samples left lying about which I duely "hoovered up"! Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Yes, I bought a pack of 50 sheets off him about a year ago - probably around the time of this thread. Good stuff and very punctually delivered. That much will probably last me out! BEB
andy watson
Ditto. I will probably drop some into the club auction next month. I can't see I will use 50 sheets. Hopefully I will be able to shift most of it and recoup my cash- leaving me with the remaining litho for free!

sharpy1071
Hi there, I have quite a lot of litho plates and can get hold of it without to much of a problem, there are two thicknesses, and, although printers are going digital they still use it in 'proper' printers ie NOT copy houses on the high street, if anyone wants some free I will supply limited amounts to people who wish to contact me, to collect from the Bournemouth area. This is legite as i have just retired and sold my printing business but kept all the old out of date plates.

Andy48
Sy, have you tried this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/aluminium-sheet-200x100-x-0-5mm-thick-grade-en485-1050-h14-model-engineer-maker-/300625950778?pt=UK_BOI_Metalworking_Milling_Welding_Metalworking_Supplies_ET&hash=item45feb3f83a 0.5mm thick, probably thicker than litho, but likely to be a softer aluminium.
