NigelH
Posted by Allan Bowker on 07/10/2011 12:44:43: It looks like it hovers, which made me think "Yes! A Harrier!". However, judging by that roll rate, I suspect it's going to be another 'heli' type aircraft I can only hope I'm wrong. I wonder how it rolled at all without moving forwards or backwards. Not with ailerons for sure. Something like QQ put in his new one but more of them ? Directed air flow ?
Tim Mackey
CGI most likely.
Bob Cotsford
Posted by Tim Mackey on 07/10/2011 13:43:33:CGI most likely. Nice one TimSo what could roll around it's own axis - quadracopter with variable pitch rotors? ducted fan harrier with steroidal puffer controls? Chris Bott - Moderator
How about an F35 JSF? Wouldn't that be something? Although I can't see how they would make it roll. I'd rather see a Harrier, hopefully that goes without saying. They certainly have us talking about it.
NigelH
Posted by Tim Mackey on 07/10/2011 13:43:33:CGI most likely. I'm not so sure about that Tim. It's not just about a flat background that they can easily rotate. The guy is moving his head and there’s the proper parallax effect so it really wouldn’t be simple to do. NigelH
BTW, it ought to be something really special given all the trouble they're going to. I've not seen anything like this before from them.

Simon Chaddock
The very fact they are going to so much advertising trouble is in itself rather suspicious. It probably means that it is only modest but the development cost more than its really worth. Answer - let the advertising boys make it seem like it is worth more! Solid Snake
Without a doubt the worst advertising campaign I've ever seen

Peter Miller
IT had better be really special after those ads or it will be a complete anticlimax. Personally I found them more irritating than interesting. But then, I am a nasty, cynical old manEdited By Peter Miller on 17/10/2011 08:58:

David Ashby - Moderator
Yep, finally all is revealed......... And some new models for the technology. The little Gee Bee looks sweet.Edited By Tim Mackey on 21/10/2011 09:37:
IDD15
As a lover of small models this really is quite fascinating and has got to be worth a try. To expand the wind speed range in which you can comfortably fly such a model makes investing time and money in a small project so much more worthwhile. Nice to see the special receivers are already available as a spare! Quite agree the Gee Bee looks quite stunning! CheersIDD
