Niall Reynolds
Anyone have this problem with the exhaust hitting the firewall???
Stuart Z
Niall “Just Engines” can sell you an exhaust extension which will solve this S
brokenenglish
From the photograph, it looks like the small piece of firewall that is intended to be removed for silencer clearance hasn't been removed... Did you read the instructions?
Niall Reynolds
Extension ordered!!!
KEVIN CAMILLERI
Hello Niall, if you are using the 55ax Os engine, the engine should fit without any extensions... Did you removed the small piece from the firewall as Brokenenglish told you ?
Niall Reynolds
Is that the part under the engine mount??
Stuart Z
Niall Your bulkhead does look slightly different to mine, however, I am using the O.S. 55 AX in mine and did remove the smaller cutout piece on my bulkhead and still had to use an extension. It will not cause you an issue and will help chuck the exhaust further from the fuselage, if you use the extension. Mine needs hardly a wipe after an engine run, using a rubber extension on the exhaust stub. It’s a case of what fits best. S
Niall Reynolds
Thanks Stuart. I am off work today so I will have a look at it. I still am unsure what part of the bulkhead to remove??
Stuart Z
Niall My bulkhead had two “cut out” pieces, one I can see in your picture, the other, much smaller sat in line with where your exhaust sits and the “recess” is hidden by covering film, this lies where the exhaust fits. I hope this makes sense. Even opening this up I needed the extension from Just Engines. It however works a treat. Sorry, rubbish with computers else I’d do a picture for you. Stuart Z
Niall It is the same as mine and you have removed the recessed area I was referring to. So no more to do until the extension arrives, then good to go! S

KEVIN CAMILLERI
Started the assembly of the Acrowot.. Engine 55ax.. same problem of the muffler ... need the extension.. its a pity that the Acrowot manual recommends the 55 engine and does not even listed in the manual the need of extension... Started to fit the Dubro Tank... Edited By KEVIN CAMILLERI on 06/11/2017 07:46:

KEVIN CAMILLERI
Where do you place the rx battery nimh? Under the fuel tank?
cymaz
If it needs nose weight, under the tank. Try and get the Rx battery to do most of the balancing for you.
