The 'share your photos' thread (not model flying)

Rocamadour Balloon Festival yesterday. Unfortunately a rather overcast sky (still 21C though!) washed out much of the colour potential.

One of the two, rather crowded, launch sites:

Rocamadour 1

Best get the wrinkles out before the launch, I suppose.....smile oteeth 2:

Rocamadour 2

Some deft control needed to weave through the trees on the way out.......

Rocamadour 3

Up and away...........

Rocamadour 4

Aaaah.....the kids loved this one!:

A couple of pictures from the archives, not brilliant photos but both remind me of interesting times gone by.

The DH Rapide was based at Caernarfon some years ago and I took a flight in it; the SR71 was tucked away in its own airconditioned hanger at Washinton Dulles Airport, USA (where I worked) it was one of many aircraft in store awaiting the opening of an aviation musuem, which is now open. I got to know the curator and he was happy to give me a guided tour. One of the other 'craft was the original Space Shuttle, the one that didn't go into space.

A club member took this with a quad 'copter thingy. It has a gyro and gimbles for the camera platform, satellite tracking and several other clever tricks up its sleeve. This photo is from about 30m or so. He is flying it and is the lone dark figure on the strip .
