fly boy3
Hi all, found closed loop system on my rudder, was easy to fit and ajustable. Wondered if anyone uses it on elevator, for a 40 sized trainer/sport model. Cheers. Edited By fly boy3 on 27/08/2013 20:59:
Paul Adams
Standard on Weston Mini Hype. Closed loop to each elevator plus rudder (6 cables in all). Works very well and gives very good control of the surfaces whilst keeping the servo's at the front of the aircraft. Only problem was installing the cables so that they do not rub against each other. PatMc
Posted by Paul Adams on 27/08/2013 21:16:36: Only problem was installing the cables so that they do not rub against each other. Use plastic coated fishing trace wire then it doesn't matter if the wires rub together. I've used pull-pull on elevator & rudder in a number of models for donkeys years without any problems. Where possible I connect the servos to pivoting bars with the wires between these & the control surface horns. This means that there isn't a constant pressure on the servos when the model's not in use. Edited By PatMc on 28/08/2013 00:22:
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Yeap - closed loop is my favourite means of waddling the tail bits! I've often used it on elevator as well as rudder, easy to fit, infinitely adjustable, visually discreet and very light. Much to recommend it! Ernie
Hi, Yes, It's a really good system, light and precise. I've never worried if the wires rub, they just slide against each other. ernie

John Privett
Closed-loop was the recommendation for the Limbo Dancer. It worked well on mine. In fact that's the model you can just glimpse at the top of my avatar pic! Edited By John Privett on 29/08/2013 20:31:
cymaz
Closed loop ( aka pull- pull ) is great. I love using it. Fishing trace wire and crimps from the local angling shop is far cheaper than anything from a model shop. Sorry shop owners.
