David Ashby - Moderator
Thought you'd all like to see Can-Doo, the new canard design from Nigel Hawes that's the pull-out plan with our Dec 2013 issue. Looks good doesn't it. Edited By David Ashby - RCME on 01/11/2013 10:04:46 Edited By David Ashby - RCME on 02/11/2013 07:48:

Ron Harrison
Is this made mainly of Planking, like one of the Tony Nijhuis Vampires? Ron
David Ashby - Moderator
I've yet to study the plan Ron but think I can safely say yes - flat sheet surfaces - Nigel's speciality.
Ian Jones
Hmm, looks as if it's probably an easy build. I wonder if I can get a non-building foamy electric only friend to finally make something? Looks nice, can I see control surfaces on the canards? Down Under
I like it a lot. Must add to my build list. Any videos of it flying ?
WolstonFlyer
It looks very good
Old Geezer
If it's one of Nigel's designs it's bound to fly nicely, just a pity it must have been submitted about the same time as Richard Harris's "UnCanny" which is pretty similar , though I reckon Richard's model is the better looker. Stephen Jones
Now i do like that , And when i seen it i thought i had see that color scheme some where before and it does have a similar look to the Eze Fan . It looks both sporty and jet like . Nice one Nigel .
Shaunie
Really keen to build one of these, can't wait for the mag to come out! How many Watts does it need? Shaunie.
Stephen Jones
Shaunie , Not Shure but looks like a 200 watt set up to me , and must be all of four sheets of balsa in that . .
Andy Green
Seeing this has piqued my interest in a canard slope soarer. I think its called a Valkyrie, but I cant find any info let alone a plan. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Andy
Ian Jones
I remember that as a free plan, more by name than anything... but I'm sur eyou are on the right track Andy. Ian
Ian Jones
Apparently its a 2.5m canard slope soarer by Derek Evans. Looking for more info...

Andy Green
Thanks Ian Your link had a plan number, I called Traplet (shhh) and the plan with associated mag article is on its way. Not sure when it will get built, but its in the pile. Andy
Shaunie
Got a 300W set-up from a foam-e Wot 4, not sure if the motor has enough kV, too much power? Shaunie.

Andy Green
Thanks David but no. Ian found the one, and I've got the plan on order. Andy
Tony Richardson
Always fascinated by canards, if it flys like the Tucano and others in Nigels stable it's a keeper. Still have a Multiplex sonic liner hanging on the wall absolutely viceless in flight hope the Can Doo is the same, I'm in Nige.
Colin Leighfield
Received the December 2013 (can't believe it)! issue of RCME today with the Can-Doo feature and plan. It turns out that Nigel has created it by turning a Fizza around the other way! I daren't tell my Fizza, it won't know which way to turn. Could be described as a potential case of SchizoFizzia! It's clearly a quick build, as the Fizza was, certainly interesting but there's already three other models in the way and I daren't change tack again. Maybe later? Tomas Dunker
CAN-DOO will be my next Project! I have been fascinated by canards after I recently built my first. I found the plan in R/C Modeler Magazine (RCM 6/1978, plan No. 730). The original had a Cox TD .020 My build thread> **LINK** Short film on the maiden> **LINK** Edited By Tomas Dunker on 12/11/2013 07:13:27 Edited By Tomas Dunker on 12/11/2013 07:13:
Bob Cotsford
When do we get the EDF details Nigel? I was thinking of a second PushyCat to use the fan, but I do like oddball models so maybe this will get built instead
Baz Lewis
Can-Doo looks interesting, although i dont know why i feel a compultion to build a Depron Biplane version. Just looks like it should have another wing on top... mmmm! After all, a couple of evenings in the workshop and test on the third. Should have the decalage and new c of g worked out in time. Oh! and 4 ailerons of course.. Yeeeha! Might call it CAN-DOO-BI Edited By Factorywriggs on 12/11/2013 20:36:
