Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I like it! A model for all occasions and no storage problems! BEB
Tony Bennett
well this is the mk1 from depron as it's cheap enough to waste if it don't work. the mk2 will be balsa and i will be drawing up plans. i won't tell you what i have called it as it would get me banned from the forum. Toni Reynaud
Splendid idea! Looks like a mix of a Tyro and a Tinker. It WILL work ( with a bit of CG fiddling between high and low wing setups) and will definitely work from Depron. A plane for all moods. Steve T
Yes it's a silly idea, you are being silly, and I will definitely build one, how much fun can you have with a bit of balsa and a power plant? Shouldn't need plans, it looks easy build to me!
cymaz
This one is on the market.......it ain't no silly idea? Blooming great idea I'd say Edited By cymaz on 27/02/2015 20:00:
Tony Bennett
even easier if you use depron. and cheaper. and faster, 3 days so far.
Dave Hopkin
Very nice ..... now get back to the rivets on the metor - only 27.456 to go......
Andy48
Now that's accuracy and detail for you..... 0.456 of a rivet. What happened to the other half?

Steve T
It is a silly idea but I spend most of my time sitting on the silly chair with all my silly friends so it's fine by me. I bought a small Depron kit early last year, high wing then switchable to low wing. It was cheap, nasty and did not fly....at all. Can't remember what it was called but then again I'd rather forget anyway. Tony's looks the part already, have you thought about putting the plan to RCME ? ROY DAVIES 1
This is a great model for the hungover or confused. Just put the bits together and your on a winner. What's next ? Turn it around and make it a canard ? This something I have been thinking of doing with a Cardinal or should that be LANIDRAC with a Mills of course. ROY DAVIES 1
O you know there are over 4 million rivets and nuts and bolts holding a 400 series Boeing 747 together.
Tony Bennett
canard is next on the list. have to have twin fins on the main wing. then just rebalance and turn the prop round for a normal aircraft. ha ha ha
IanR
Tony, it looks as though you're creating a demand for your plans - (ahem) pencil and paper or CAD? Ian
Tony Bennett
both i think. i will draw paper ones first, then try to draw up cad ones. thats if anyone wants my rubbish.

Phil Brooks
For the cost of an extra servo or two you could make it one of these Or this Edited By Phil Brooks on 28/02/2015 09:36:
Chuck Plains
Liking it! Since I almost totalled my Phoenix 2K on it's maiden, I am compelled to re-train my brain. So a trainer is called for, but I do fancy having a bipe as well. I had planned to do a Cub as I already have an almost similar shaped wing partly built. But an idea for a slow/STOL trainer/switchable/bipe thingy is excellent! I've got foam, I've got Gorilla and hot glue and now I've got the idea! Thanx Tony! Colin Leighfield
I knew about the Bi-Mono, but I've never seen it modelled. Tony, you ought to include a triplane option as well!

Fredrum
This is a great idea Tony. I have been thinking of doing something like this for my next model but three. I will be very interested to see what kind of issues you come up against, especially the effect of all that extra wing area when you switch it to biplane mode and how the CG works out. It's great when someone else does your R&D for you.
