Phil Cooke
Dirk, Ive found the old thread regarding the weathering masterclass by a chap named Stan Caussell, who built one of the earlier gen MIBO A-10s and finished it really well - take a look - it really starts to describe the methods/materials from post 306. It uses oils and paints to pick up all the surface detail which I know will work well on your Fouga, bringing out all those details you have lovingly placed into the moulds. But you'll have to be a brave man to rub oil and grime all over that nice camo you've just applied... the prize is massive, but you need to be brave! https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-jets-120/6965817-4th-gen-10-mibo-jets-13.html 2
Andy Meade
I followed the same method on my big 262. Just make sure there's a sealing coat of varnish down before you get into the oils, as at least you can get rid of mistakes or make changes without affecting the paintwork underneath.
dirk tinck
Hello all , I can't believe my last post is from July '24 There are several reasons for my absence. First , i couldn't use my spraybooth due to other Jobs Second , i ruined my decals and had to make paintmasks instead , Third , i had some health issues , and fourth , all these hurdles took away the courage to finish this model , so close to the end... Anyways , i'm slowly but sure working evenings to complete this beauty and hope by the start of the flying season i can show it to all of you ! In a few days the pics will take you back to the paintbooth and workshop.See you all ! Almost forgot : HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

dirk tinck
After a very thin cote of varnisch , i fiiled the panel lines with black-ish paint and then washed the most of it away to highlight them. Never done this before but educated myself with dozens of video's and magazines. Hope it turns out OK...
Murat Kece 1
Good to see you back. Welcome back Dirk. I hope your health has recovered and you are well now. I look forward the completion of the magnificent plane. 😊

dirk tinck
Hi all, No flying weather , so we're in the shop ! I gave some more parts a very thin coat of jacht varnish to protect the paintjob from being messed up by the weathering...dont ask... Some varnished parts got the first attempt of highlighting panel lines. It'OK i guess but the real pain comes whe i start using the little spray-gun for "misting" the dirt arround... Fingers crossed , again !
Phil Cooke
Dirk - welcome back to the building board - we have missed you! Glad you're on the mend. Those panel lines look great with the paint rubbed into them as you've done, brilliant - will bring this large model to life!!
dirk tinck
Hi all ! Before i try more weathering , i started to paint the decals by using paintmasks, not without some adhesion problems along the way ! Practice makes perfect right ? Some of the first results: Me happy !
