Robert Putley 1
When I remove the glow clip from my motor, the revs drop. Does this mean the glow plug needs to be hotel or colder

Robert Putley 1
Mixture is as lean as it will go. Motor is a profi 76. Prop, a wooden 15x5. Fuel synthetic 14%. Nitro 5%. Plug unknown. So, I shall try a hotter plug and see how that goes.
Martin Harris - Moderator
Is it leaned out on the idle screw or the main needle? If you mean you've tuned it for maximum revs at full throttle it's not going to affect the lower throttle setting significantly. I don't think the plug heat range will have much effect at idle but you could try an Enya 3 or OS8 which are good general purpose plugs - it's more likely that your unknown plug is a bit tired and the glow battery is giving it a hand...
Mike Mc
OS 6 is a hot plug. 8 is medium and 7 is in between. If you have an Enya 3 give that a try first.

Robert Putley 1
Hi Mike, I have an Enya No3 fitted. That improved matters quite a lot. So I shall now order an OS No 6 and see how if goes. Many thanks.
