What is the make and model of this Slope Soarer?

Didnt the foss slopers have ply instead of balsa  fuselage sides ?

The later variants all do, but I seem to remember some earlier ones had balsa slab sides - could be wrong though. The only image I can find is on Chris Foss' site and is.... inconclusive! 😉

Sorry no, its really nothing like a Phase-2 which had the original fishy tailplane, a constant-chord wing and quite a fat, rounded fus.  I dont think the Phase-2 was ever kitted, it was soon superseded.

I posted a pic of Fossy's original Phase-2 in the Classic designs and slope soarers with 'soul' thread.
Its a little bit like a Fair Heron but not quite, too boxy.

My guess would be an Avenger or maybe a Mendip/Chiltern  🙂

Some better images of a Phase 2, the photos are mine but the model is not. The fuselage is a balsa box.

The Phase Two and the Mini-Phase are the last on my Phase list to build but that probably won't happen now due to cost and difficulties sourcing materials.

Looks like a Micro-Mold Avenger to me - a very slippery model in its' day.

The size certainly fits and if you take into account the artistic licence of the ad 🙂:

my first thought was the Mijet but that was a bit bigger:

As was Dave Worrall's Plus series:

All ads were from 1976/77.

I have an excuse for getting it wrong then - they are older than I am! 😄

It certainly looks like an Avenger and I  spoke to the original owner who says "yes, that rings a bell". He was sure it wasn't a Chris Foss design.

Thanks to all who replied. I just need to fit my RX and take it to the hills. As electric power flyer, slope soaring will be a new experience.

Thanks again.

I always fancied a Phase Lift back in the day - did you build one of those?

I half built one then bought one fully built!! It's tissue covered and very fragile so it doesn't fly often.

Some photos of the Phase Lift with my Hi-Phase and foam wing Centi-Phase (I have another with built up wings).

Last photo is my Phase One that I've been working on recently, struggling with covering materials so it's gone back on top of the cupboard for now.

Phase Lift controls as designed. Red servo is combined rudder and aileron, blue linear servo is for RS releasable tow hook and spoilers, and the servo across the fuselage is the trailing edge camber.

You'll love it and ultimately, you might prefer it over power flying, many of us do! 🙂

Remember with a glider, down elevator makes the model go down. Up elevator makes the model go down  😁

Have fun!

My money is on the MM Avenger.

To be fair to the kit (and the ad.) I suspect the original builder was a bit shy with the razor plane!  These kipper designs require aggressive removal of wood from the corners - that's what the RA fillets inside the fus. are for!  I've seen Phases of all sorts built as boxes with the corners just rounded over - absolutely vile!
